Gave you a download cause you deffinitely deserve it, I doubt I'll play much of it though seeing as I watched you make the whole thing
Nice work, #2 is looking good.
Played the first part of the map. I think you went a bit too nuts with terrain/trees. It makes everything super laggy (even on my really nice laptop) and makes the landscape monotonous. I really don't have an idea where to go nor much inclination to try. A bunch of samey forests, a giant nondescript block, and, if I'm really lucky...a desert. Hmm. Not inspiring me at the moment.
Could be I'm just grumpy though hehe. Maybe consider pruning some the areas and giving them more character?
I don't mean to be discouraging. I do like your energy (the signs) and your ambitions with this series. The second "highway" map is a very good concept.

i get lag, even memory crashes too. once the file got corrupted!
This is a great map . ( meaning your first ) It has a lot of quirky humour , a number of very evil puzzles and a nice take on the CTM itself . I didn't complete your poll 'coz it simply didn't cover my take on the map . Highly enjoyable and frequently sneaky . Oh and the number of Lonely Islands in fiction let alone CTM maps is enough that you needn't worry about people saying you " stole " the concept from Vechs : where the hell do you think he got it from ? LOL ! Looking forward to your next map .

Thanks for your feedback. I think I went a bit over the top with the forest. There are three different kinds of forests, the aspen forest, the "forest of life" (which is a forest with regular trees, and a giant tree in the middle) and the pine forest. The idea is that the giant block is a compound that was recently deserted, and you escape it and then when you're ready go back in through the real entrance. It's placed in the middle of the forest, so if you hug the walls of it you can find the snowy area and the desert. Thanks again though, I'm taking it all in so I can use the feedback for the next one.
Looks good. Imma play that to take a break from Vechs and Jep's insanity.
Thanks for giving it a try :cool.gif:

Thanks. :smile.gif: I didn't want it to be just another CTM map, so I put a lot of time into making it. I tried looking at what made Vechs' maps successful, and put my own spin on it. That's why there are a bunch of signs, a variety of terrain, and its a fight to get all the different wools. I think I went a bit overboard having one big island have three very different biomes though. But hey, hopefully the next few maps will be a lot more enjoyable and I will be able to look back at this and laugh. :cool.gif:
Also, (one last thing) did anybody notice these? I added them last second because I thought they were funny. :smile.gif:

ya, first time i played after i got out and was scrounging around on the roof
whny is no one talking? no updates on map progress? no fixed tree version...
Actually think I'm going to switch threads once I get the second one done. Kind of ditching the first one, to be honest. If you want another screenshot, here you go. But Im trying not to give too much away.

This is where you get the first tree. :cool.gif:
OMG !!!!!!!!I love your take on architecture . BTW , the blue wool location was a superb and nasty surprise . I've set up my base in the city across the water from the main island . Also , the maze beneath the sand was nice and evil , though the sign in the lower level of the big , mossy cobble building nearby left my spluttering and annoyed .

Nice to see you've taken some time to explore. The mossy cobble buildings are supposed to be abandoned dig sites, so if you are ever at a loss of what to do there are three in the map. You were unlucky and chose the wrong one. :smile.gif: I'm glad that you are looking forward to the next map. I tried putting as much creativity but at the same time accessibility into it. I put time into making rooms look amazing, and from the start (or a bit after...) you have easy access to everything in the map, yet going to harder areas is a very bad idea early on because of limited resources.
After testing, took me about 20 minutes until I got to my first tree.
New, neat layout of map. Each area is in its own "box" if you will.
There aren't any vast open areas in the map that don't give an idea of which way to go.
[]Guess you will have to be the judge of that, if you do download it.
If that came off as an asshole move, I'm sorry. I understand why you don't like the first one. I'm just trying very hard to pimp out the one I'm working on now. :cool.gif:

Sorry also if I came off as an asshole in my previous post. I tried it played for a few hours and in generality I didn't like it because of my previous reasons.
Nice work, #2 is looking good.
We're friends in real life. He spent about the last month rooming with me at my house.
cool!
EDIT: why not say that IRL then LOL!!!

Never thought of that. Since it's such a vast map, maybe I'll do that if I update it. Thanks!
