I'm working on an adventure map in a laboratory, I wanted to use the map's texture pack,(With a few modifications) because I think it has a great science lab like quality. Could I?(Of course, I would give credit to the creator.)

Hey, this is one of my favorite maps and I was so excited to play the overhaul version after seeing CaptainSparklez's playthrough of the old one. When I started out there were no issues, until i got to the first giant nether portal. I'm playing in 1.8.3 and I don't think large portals like that work any more. I tried spawning myself in a flint and steel to light it, it didn't work. I tried spawning more obsidian to build a smaller one, but that took me somewhere outside of the map. Is it still possible to play this map? Is there a way I can make it work?

Someone should make a HD version of this map, of course with the creator's permission, that remakes the same great story and map, but with new tweaks that make it fit with 1.8, and a new version of the resource pack that's a bit more high quality, no offense to the creator.

I am completely stuck. I am at the Nether Portal, after you enter the test chamber, and the associate starts talking to you.

There isnt any kind of Portal here, im completely stuck as to what to do.

If anyone could tell me what version of minecraft i should play this on, that would help. Might be because im using 1.8
