I dont know much about redstone but I can see a LOT of background work it would seem (stairwise for the redstone to climb up and down, along with the converters? (dunno name) to extend em. Good luck with it though, this seems quite amazing.
Plan to try to recreate the bosses in some way? Or even as a gag, use a photo of em in the respected places?
I don't think I would qualify as an "expert", however, I do use redstone quite a bit (wherever I go =D). I think I found a possible solution to your redstone issue.
At first I thought of just hooking the redstone to pistons inline with them, (like this _[] ), but I found, (if following the screenshot), the blocks to be too close and clustered together.
However, a couple days back a friend and I wanted to do a maze structure so we researched it. As it turns out, we came across a tutorial to do pop-up mazes. The layout for it allows for an array of pistons side-by-side to fire without complications. With that said, I went to work based off of the layout in the screenshot (I tried to get as accurate as possible) and I have successfully created what I think you were trying to do. The only drawback with this system is the 'rolling' effect it has, in that, one block goes up, then the next, then the next. Not sure if you wanted them to seamlessly come up all at once or the rolling effect would be plausible.
I have saved the system as a schematic (I use MCedit as well), so I think it would just be a matter of getting it to you so you can see it. If you like it, I'm sure you could just continue on with it and finish the room, or, I could do it, given, I would have to know the full dimensions and which blocks you want where.

You are brilliant, sir, this was exactly what I needed. I can manage to fit it into the building I'm working on. You'll take a place in my special thanks section :smile.gif:

Yes. I have a texture pack that I'm working on as I go, and the plan was to use photos in place of them. Already have the blue soldiers from the eastern temple, I'll try to post a screenshot in a bit here.
I still need a teaser video for this map. The guy who said he was going to do it hasnt responded to my messages, so if anyone else is interested let me know. I will, of course, showcase the video and your channel on the first post.

No problem! I always like solving problems involving redstone. =D
I realize you said you liked it and that it would work, however, are you sure you don't want me to try to come up with a better way for the system to run? I mean, for all the red blocks to come up all at once, and etc. instead of the 'rolling' effect?
Seeing the system do that, rather than what the original game did (as I grew up with the game as well), just doesn't sit right with me. It doesn't quite scream Zelda! =/ (I also realize this is Minecraft, and not Zelda, but still, you're trying to get as close as possible, right?)

If you want to try to improve it you can, but I'm fine with the way it is now. I think given that its a minecraft conversion, people would be willing to forgive the rolling affect, but I wont say no to anything else you want to do!

Almost done with the video! Sorry this is taking so long =/ I've had a lot to do.

Ah ha! =D After kinda tearing my hair out for a few hours, I'm pretty sure I've came up with a better, more Zeldaish feel for the switching. There is still some lag with some of the blocks, which I've tried to remove, but despite my efforts, it keeps doing it for some reason. :blink.gif:
I compared the two versions side-by-side and timed each. Version 1 took ~1s, 40ms to fully change, whereas, Version 2 took ~50ms! :ohmy.gif: Big difference!
I wasn't sure what area you had to work with underneath, so I merely reused the existing area. Let me know what you think! =D

I went to test your schematic and I started panicking because I couldn't find the map (mine). I went and looked into my minecraft folder and it wasnt in my saves. I pretty much shat the rest of the bricks for the tower. But then I remembered last night I had moved the map to my AC folder just to see if it would transition (it would btw, freakin sweet), and I felt pretty ashamed. Anyway your work is incredible. I might have to hire you on to help me with the redstone in the other dungeons :wink.gif:
Edit: If you are interested, I may have another section that needs wiring to the first floor. It shouldn't be as difficult, since its spaced out a little more, but I figure if you want to do it, it would save me a little time and help the map along faster
Updated the screenshot of the world. You can now see the death mountain tower. The little "rooms" behind the mountain were just for redstone testing :tongue.gif:
I finished the mountain tower today. First Agahnim's tower, now the mountain tower... I'm going backwards lol. Oh well. I like the way it turned out. the boss is a little wonky looking though.

Thanks, that would be cool! Like I said before, I always like a redstone challenge (even if it's not as difficult)!
Just let me know what you need exactly (space restrictions, what the main goal is, etc.) and I'll do my best.
I started planning for the tunnel that runs from the castle to the sanctuary. I had planned on having the route run under the cemetery so you can use the secret entrance under the grave, but the logistics just aren't matching up. I think I'll end up having the grave put you somewhere else. I hope people dont have a problem with that.
Think I'm done for tonight, everything added was underground so nothing to update as far as screenshots. All I really have left is the desert palace, half of the eastern palace, a few small interior spaces, then some polish and it should be done. Unfortunately TKM has been busy so it looks like we wont be getting a teaser video, but if anyone cares to make something for it I'll be happy to post it.

I uploaded it to MediaFire since they are the easiest: http://www.mediafire.com/?1ttpx1o3jkk2a6g

No, most of this map was placed by hand. The only thing done with McEdit was water and trees.

Oh ok. I sent you a message and you didnt respond so I thought you werent interested anymore! Good to know its still coming,
I should have it up by tonight. I'll bump your thread again when I'm uploading it.
