I want to do the same thing last week but im still waiting for a map and i dont have the time to make it by my own so.....
what do you think how long it will take you ?? and what do you mean with "extra things" ??
pics look good :wink.gif:
Thanks I appreciate the support, if I did it by chapters I could almost release the first one now, the problem with doing that is I feel like the game would be broken up and at the start of every new chapter the players would have to give themselves all the items they had in the previous chapter, and I am not quite sure how players would feel about that. If I release it all together I could possibly finish it in about two months.
As for extra things I could add in extra dungeons and puzzles to existing ones to mix things up a bit from the original or I can make A (almost) exact copy of the original, within the capabilities that minecraft provides.
Yeah I am going to make the whole map in one download but for now I am putting up a demo which features the first temple and I actually think it will be up by today.
Wow! I played it and it was great, it feels like the original zelda, i had some glitches, but nothing to worry about. Good job!
but i have a question, How do you make the boulder moving were you get your sword? scripting?

actually I took a frame by frame picture of the area using the storage blocks and timers it was a really really long process. during editing I think some of the timers were messed up because sometimes the boulder likes to jump around and I plan on fixing this. also I made that before I really learned how to script but I have actually been thinking about converting the way the boulder moves to scripting. anyways thanks I am really glad you liked it, and I appreaciate the support! :laugh.gif:

Downloading it now. I'll let you know how it goes!
update
Hey just checking in! I am currently working diligently to get the hyrule marketplace and zeldas castle done! I will probably put some screen shots of what I have done. I just finished the temple of time and it looks sweet. anyway if anyone has any questions or comments feel free to let me know whats on your mind.
Awesome I hope you enjoy it. its only a demo and the area it covers still needs some work but I thought it was in good enough shape to release.
And it helps to generate hype. At least people are commenting on your map though! I have like 60 something downloads with NO gameplay comments.
The opening cutscene was done very well. The only thing that could be improved would be to have cinematic camera angles for the conversation between Navi and the Deku Tree. Navi's flight is awesome and very well done.
The moving rock where you find the Kokiri sword is done well. Also, Mido not letting you in until you have the sword was a really nice touch!
The Deku Tree needs a revamp if you want to make it closer to the original (both size and original puzzles). The original puzzles shouldn't be difficult, as you already have the "stick on fire" script. You could use the other OoT map as a point of reference for what the Deku Tree should look like.
The recreation of the Kokiri Forest is done so well. I noticed that the money system you have in place requires you to trade currencies. I'm working on a script right now that makes it so most of the drops from mobs produce a "rupee item" (retextured normal mob drop) that when it is picked up it gives you real rupees and places them in the lower right corner of your inventory screen. I'll probably add the script to the wiki, so check back there for it if you want something like that in your game. (I'm also hinting that you should add your scripts there too lol cause they are all awesome)
