The Minecraft Crew just released their first video of my "Fear in a Handful of Dust" map. I am impressed, given the make up of their team.
THANKS GUYS!
Hey! I'm Piper from the Minecraft Crew and I just wanted to say a massive WELL DONE for an awesome map you created! It was such fun to play. The amount of thought and detail that went into it is very impressive. It felt as if you were in the Wild West with all the sand and the styles of the buildings. The back story was really interesting too, I hadn't heard the recorded voice bit until I just watched the video, very well acted with all the different voices. We had a lot of fun choosing our cowboy skins hehe. There's so much to explore too, we spent over an hour running around all four walls of bedrock to see if we could find all the side quests (which we didn't film!). We will definitely play another of your map as they sound as good as this one.
A huge thanks for an awesome map from the Minecraft Crew!!

This one also has my own video series with a slightly different storyline and multiple characters. "Like it" on youtube if you get a chance? And feel free to subscribe to my channel as well www.youtube.com/rsmalec
I added a poll to the top of my post, as I'm debating whether I should change my rating scale for "difficulty".
Right now, I defined difficulty as;
Difficulty (diff): Puzzles. Mob/risk density and variety. Lighting. Hidden items/challenges.
1 = Impossibly hard, may not be able to see the whole adventure
2 = Too easy
3 = Challenging, even on on peaceful
4 = Challenging, on easy/normal but not impossible
Puzzles, lighting, and hidden challenges are easy to judge.
I used to think mob density was easy to judge too, but the PLAYER has the ability to set their own difficulty level at will. So is that really something the map creator should be rated on? Let's say I want only Zombies to spawn in a certain room - so I add a spawner. But random mobs will also spawn and I've made the situation (potentially) worse. Yet as a map maker, it's mostly out of my control.
Vote and let me know!
It's a little odd that it's non-linear -- too hard, too easy, medium-hard, well-hard (sorry, hungry, slipped into steak description). Your reviews are based on what you like,t hat's true for every reviewer everywhere. But difficulty is a tough thing to gauge. What I consider too hard some people like. Maybe a separate scale of difficulty? Difficulty: extremely hard. ...then take mob density out of the rest of the ranking. I dunno, just a thought. I always switch to peaceful when my **** is getting kicked. When I played the Alice game I had to switch in the forest.
This was PiperBunny's first map, created for The Minecraft Crew. I found it to be Short and sweet. I think my 8 year old and his friends will like this one.

Hehe wow, thank you very much :biggrin.gif: Hope you like the Disney one too
I think it means we need to put some text into our posts or risk getting them removed/banned.
I searched through the maps forum, and I don't see anyone with examples of the proper licensing in their posts.
If anyone has an acceptable example, please let me know?
Otherwise, I guess I'm going to add this to all of my threads...
Interesting. Never noticed this functionality before, but at the bottom-right of every post is a little voting button where you can "vote up" posts. Anyone know where this rating shows up?

If you are a Disney fan, this is a lovely map with an intriguing mix of movie references. However, I found myself getting lost and wasting time a bit too much - spent 2.5 hours over 3 nights, which probably could have been finished in an hour. Actually had to restart the map because I trapped myself in at one point - which I think was intended (upon reflection) but at the time I was just annoyed. There was some very nice visual detail in several places, but then a few that were pretty bare.
