i love the voice recorded notes, it makes it feel like you're playing a story book. i also really liked the forrest part, mostly because it was genuinely scary and a bit difficult if you run out of torches like i did.. i got a pet doggy on the way and he died from creepers in the forrest. D:
my only real complaint is that there arent really many difficult parts besides the forrest, and theres not any hard to solve puzzles. but its the atmosphere of it that made it great, so thats ok.
Glad you enjoyed it.
I really wasn't trying to put hard puzzles in, other than makeing it a little tricky to find some of the chests if you're rushing through. The forest is an admitted bottleneck.
Overall - I wanted to make something 'different' than your typical medieval themed adventure.
I haven't found the Chescire Cat yet, can you tell me where to find him?
That forest chest is the #1 issue folks have....
Once you finish the maze proper, right before the sign that says you are leaving the 'safety' of the wood, look to your right. You should see a row of redstone torches leading directly to the tree with the chest. Look up. You have to go up a 2-square stair of leaves. I thought the row of redstone torches would help, but I guess not.

Well I saw the torches, but I didn't find the chest, thanks!
Also, when I get into the white castle, and there's like a white spade made of wool, what do I do? Burn it all down?
You noticed the green wool hat in chapter 3, but all of the chests are decorated to represent the Wonderland characters.
Also, looks like you played on version 1.1. My latest version makes the Tulgey Wood chest a lot easier to find (and a slight difference in heart castle).
I do hope you enjoyed the map - feel free to try my other offerings (follow the signature)
The custom texture pack was very nice. But it disguised the throne room (and some of the chest interior art) -- sorry about that!
And unfortunately, Mojang nerfed firespread, so you can't quite burn the whole throne room. Not sure how I'm going to fix that part of the experience, but it's on the list!

Yep. Burn it. The White Queen has taken over the Red Queen's throne room, but the Cheshire Cat left you a clue on the wall in red paint, "BURN".
That said, unfortunately Mojang nerfed the spread of fire so the whole room won't go up easily. Burn as much as you can to reveal the REAL throne room underneath.
This is on my list of things to change in a future update... maybe with pistons...
Howdy, I only recently started doing a Let's Play series and made a few videos with this map to take a break from Survival Single Player. =] I really enjoyed the map a lot, the only thing I had a problem with (That wasn't my fault for doing stuff like not reading the Read Me, as you'll see from the video xD) was that, when playing on normal, I found it virtually impossible to progress into the first room down the rabbit hole.
I'm relatively new to Minecraft, so maybe I'm just lacking on awesome combat strategies, but I just got swarmed by 5 or so mobs after falling into the pool. I ended up putting it on Peaceful for the video and enjoyed it very very much! I loved the Narration, it added a lot to it and you did very well on them. In some of the clips that involved the Queen speaking it ramped up in volume more than I would have liked (In the videos I went through and lowered the volume on things like the cannon blast when you reach the castle, and her screaming Off With Your Head a few times.) I enjoyed all the narration, just wish the volume didn't get so loud in some bits. :smile.gif:
(Is there a way to post these as JUST links, I feel like a tool having 4 embedded videos, but can't figure out how to, uh, un-embed it.)

THANKS for looking at this map!
I apologize for uneven volume in my narration. A lesson learned for next time!
I think you can use the [ url ] tags to just post the link (but honestly I prefer to see a video).
Watching these now.
The reason you start up in the clouds is to make the drop as long as possible. It's still too quick in my opinion. I ended up not putting in a lot of things that I wanted you to pass while falling.
I honestly think yours is the first to integrate recorded audio with the map to make the experience more captivating rather than have us read signs all over the place.

As far as i know, yes. I also did this with Fear in a Handful of Dust (follow sig link).
The intent was to create a mod that lets you listen to them in game without needing to 'tab out' but mods are too unstable and i think notch is putting that in 1.8!!!
I'm still in the middle of playing this map and I've got to say, GREAT JOB. It is well done, but for whatever reason I don't see the flint and tinder in the cook's chest box as I saw in your commentary. Should I just spawn one?
Edit: Found it not in the place I thought it was, nice updates!

Wonderful! I look forward to watching more of your videos. It's the best way for map makers to see things they need to improve.

So my maps will hopefully get more immersive!
Added pistons in VERY MINOR places - purely for visual asthetics
Added a breadcrumb somewhere
Added something back in that got lost in 1_2
Edit: Found it not in the place I thought it was, nice updates!
Very good sir!
Glad you like it. I hope you try my other maps.
