Been using your map on a couple of my servers, my planes server and my SMP one. And its amazing. Ran a carto of it today on caves mode and it looked even more amazing! Great work cant wait for your updates!
Amazing concept - can't wait until my download finishes.
What might be cool - change your generation program to include a grid of blue/red cotton block 'lattitude' and 'longitude' lines at the topmost block in the sky, with signs at each intersection that shows the comparable real-world coordinate.
I fail... I can't install the map. When i unrard the file i had a folder with a few files: ''earth'', ''spawnpoints'' a file named world and a READMe. When i put the earth folder in my saves folder minecraft doesnt see it. Not even when i change the level.dat.
The folder that's in your save folder should have a region folder and a level.dat.

Any chance of you improving compatability with the flatmap option of dymap (bukkit)?
I've got this map running on my SMP, which is all nice and well, but the zoomtile option is the only one that works for this map. Flat will usually return the highest block at 0. I talked to some people ( a fair bit of people, actually) on their IRC, and they came to the conclusion that the map is in someway corrupt. I'll continue using the map, as it is rather brilliant, but having a live flatmap of it would just be so much better. :<
The problem is most likely either lighting or that each block was placed separately from the minecraft generation. We'll do what we can but if it doesn't work, it doesn't work unfortunately.

one little question, did you make the trees yourself??
they look different to me
Go east to Indian ocean, then go north, pass Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Afganistan, get geografy book, go to India and Nepal. You are in the goal!
Mt. Everest is 1679 Blocks north of the Equator and 5215 Blocks east of the Prime Meridian. Please come in from the South Face, though, because no one survives in climbing the North Face.
BTW, someone might have conquered Everest in the 1920s, but if they did, they didn't come back to tell the tale.

Just wanted to give you and your team a really nice congratulations for doing this amazing piece of work. As a college student I can understand what it means to not have as much free time as one would like so keeping that in mind don't pay special attention to the unpatient mofos here who are pressing you to hurry up and finish, just take your time :biggrin.gif:
Keep up the good work, much appreciated!
ok from what im reading(my download is still going) your making earth so does that mean your making an exact scale (to the boundaries of minecraft) of earth, if so have you made area 51 :biggrin.gif:

Maybe use a little less sand, except along coasts?
I made a mini-Chicago out of black wool as my home, and then tried to re-enact "Oregon Trail". LOL.
Fun times.
Keep up the good work, much appreciated!
