Awesome work guys, great to see everyone is still energized. Its been a quiet couple of months without internet, and I missed the opportunity to commemorate the 4th anniversary of Criswelvania on Jan. 31st, but I am still working on the map. I need to respond to a couple emails I've gotten from forum members recently, sorry to leave you hanging if you sent one. I did receive the messages but have not been able to answer using just my phone. I hope to be back online by the end of this month, finances permitting. More news soon!
The network of portals has been causing me confusion because they seem to be linking to parts of Minerva that are not part of the download. Is this perhaps because the only download I could find was for the "lite" version? So, I can fix the nether exit, and the throne room?
ps. I am still monitoring the Nyvarld thread especially wrt any potential Ruins structure packs.
Yeah, unfortunately the 1.5.2 Beta, which is the most recent release, is a "Lite" version without the rest of Minerva included. I'm sure the new release that Criswell's working on currently will have a full version as well.
P.S. As you can see, I'm still slowly working on building for Minerva, but Annanvarld and transferring Nyvarld structures into a Ruins pack are still on my to-do-list. Glad to see you're still following. Thanks for your support!

Our fearless leader! Good to see you're still with us. It has been quiet without you, but we're all still excited for the new release. And I'll keep building for Minerva either until that release or until you stop taking my submissions. I look forward to hearing more good news and updates in the future.
I just started a playthrough of that adventure map. The first episode is the prologue.
The beginning is not blind since it took several attempts to record it (don't worry, it'll be blind when I'll come to the village) and, apparently, I have an issue with the NPCs. For some reasons, the game crashes everytime I want to buy and sell something. I'm playing with Minecraft 1.7.10 and the version 5.2.1. I don't know what's going on with the NPCs and if I can fix that problem, unless there's another version that fixes the issue :/
You're most likely playing the beta version. An update pretty much screwed everything up, if I don't badly remember. Play the "Return to Criswelvania 2.5 Lite" instead.
Yes... It appears to be. I will post a backup link in a few minutes - until Criswell is able to fix the link himself.
So... With your permission, oh almighty Criswell, prophet of Criswelvania, I shall allow other fellow mortals to enjoy the experience of playing the adventure map! XD
Thanks Minnan! Appreciate the save, unfortunately I think all the NPCs are b0rked in recent versions of Minecraft, in some versions they will outright crash the game, and in 1.8.0 I have found that they work without crashing, but all NPCs prevent any chunk saving in whatever chunk they occupy, a very strange bug, but I believe this is due to the tags created by SethBling's original custom NPC filter, hopefully they can be remade with an updated filter that complies with whatever Minecraft needs to see now. With luck maybe this won't affect you with the latest MC update, but I can't say yet as I haven't been able to test it. I'm assuming they need to be redone at this point. Perhaps I can pump out a fixed version of the map soon to at least keep people playing.
If the bug I described persists in the current version of Minecraft, while the map is still playable, certain areas may be adversely affected wherever NPCs are present, block updates will not stick upon reload of the chunk, including changes to redstone states, and chest contents which occupy the same chunk as an NPC (anywhere vertically in the chunk, no matter how far above or below the NPC might be). This would have to be tested in 1.8.2 as I am not able to do so at present. If you can wait a few weeks I do hope to address this issue fully.
Also, MysticLaian, if you do keep going with the current version that you're playing (the 1.5.2), You might want to make sure that you're playing the 1.6 version of Minecraft just to ensure there are as few errors as possible. It's not ideal, but at least there should be a lot fewer bugs.
So, whilst adventuring through my Imgur database, I found some old screenshots of things I built in Criswelvania:
Criswell, I'm wondering if you'd be interested in adding the structure/concept of the first two images to a region in Minerva as a key chapter to the main quest which players locate through the hints left throughout the first books?. The section itself can be mostly about immersion, perhaps recalling back to the old n64 Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness game.
Internet service will be established at my temporary base of operations in an abandoned warehouse, next Tuesday. A little bit of time is needed to spin up the engines, but I will definitely be back in business next week.
I am totally serious. This project is as indie as it gets
Update: Apparently no phone lines = no internet for today, despite what the main office had said. :\ So, looks like a little more work is needed, gonna cost a couple bills to get the phone co to come in and wire the place, but it still seems possible within a week or so, I'll keep you posted.
I don't know where to start with this Minecraft map. I have been following Criswelvania for all four years its been around, back when it was one of the only adventure maps out there and I still haven't found everything in it. This map is the reason I continue to play Minecraft, it is the source of almost all my inspiration when building or even playing single player. Criswelvania is a classic. I still have 3 or 4 zipped copies on my computer for a rainy day. I hope you continue on this project until the end of Minecraft. I will never get enough.
That puzzle is hopefully not glitched in that version, it's hard to remember now, but after one of the updates that required map conversion to a new format the redstone latch circuit tripped itself through some kind of forced block update along with a couple other similar circuits, they were easy enough to reset but I did have to do that at some point.
Just so as to not leave you hanging, while I hate to spoil, it's an old puzzle anyway. :> So the way it should work is you can weigh down either one or the other choice to safely break the ice while that pressure plate is active, but not both, and not neither.
The riddle meaning, it doesn't matter if you submit to the service of fate or choose your own destiny to pursue, they are both essentially the same choice. But you cannot avoid one or the other by indecision, and you cannot choose what will be, only to embrace that which can be. And I thought, that riddle should be worth at least a pretty cool sword, right? It was also an excuse to use a Rush lyric in the map.

Abandoned warehouse? Are you actually serious?

Head up! There is a way out. You may need to find a chest with ladders.
Hey Criswell, just wanted to say I'm a huge fan of the map, really love your work, keep it up man!

The download link for Return to Criswelvania v2.5 Lite doesn't work. It says the file was deleted/removed/is invalid etc.
EDIT: I am silly, I found the link. But really you do need to fix the link.

If you do, the failsafe is triggered!
