My second Race for Wool match! Two teams go head to head in an exciting and at times frustrating match! In this episode we get the blue wool relatively quickly, then come at a standstill on the 1st wool. Chaos ensues after resources get scarce, pvp action gets pretty intense, and very annoying lag (stuntdude who was hosting managed to find the problem to be a memory leak and has since fixed it). Hope you enjoy our pain and suffering! (we enjoyed every moment of it :biggrin.gif:)
No, I'm not going to post a screenshot. Why? Because I do not claim victory
I had to use peaceful mode for dungeon 5 (I think). I dropped TNT at some point...and this resulted in a cross-dungeon-crater so full of monsters that it would have been impossible to proceed. And I didn't want to restart.
I really enjoyed the map, but hot daaaaamn that part was frustrating.
I took a look around infernal sky and all I can say is "vechs, I hate you". I spent almost a full minecraft day figuring out how I was supposed to get to that tree. If this is indicative of the rest of the map........This is gonna be arduous as hell. >_<

Enjoy written Let's Plays? My blog for them is right here:
I still can't wrap my head around dungeon 2. I started up a couple of games on Sunburn Islands when I was first experimenting with Hardcore mode, and every single time I got to that area, I would just find nothing but ungodly dense swarms of mobs that aren't close enough to be from spawners.
Actually, you can't use SPC to enchant stackable items, it will say "This item cannot be enchanted." If you use NBTEdit, you can get enchantments, but they will be gone when you drop the item or stack it.
What is all this about enchanting sticks? Battlesigns are far superior.
EDIT: You can hack-enchant a bow, but the enchantments will not apply to the shot arrows.
Wow Vechs, I saw your channel update video: I must say, it gave me insight onto why you make these maps as you chuckled evilly as you shot the ender dragon beacons, killing all the mobs. Yes indeed.
Zap, you misunderstand the purpose of the knockback. When using a bow, it is very inconvenient to battle up close. When stuck in close combat, a whack with a knockback bow will send them back to a distance appropriate for arrow use.

If at first you don't succeed, keep dying in fires until you do.

Well it's like that because during the day, that is the only...pretty much the only...cave type thing in the entire map. So Minecraft will place 200 Hostile mobs that it would place everywhere on land during the night in that one cave.

Very minor spoiler (figured I would put it in tags just to be on the safe side):
Why is it that most people don't think to make snow blocks from the snowballs?

Yeah, you should attempt that at night or just simply tunnel...

Please for the sake of your own life don't play legendary.
First order of business, probably should have mentioned this earlier, when it actually happened, but me and a few other people finished Sunburn Islands in multiplayer and boy was it fun!

(Yes, these were most of the people who ended up doing Race for Wool. This was our way of getting to know each other.

Also, just for fun, here is a pants glitch I found during the aftermath of the Race for Wool event:

Yeah, I thought of that....AFTER I
Dug up a bunch of Sand and made a sandstone bridge. >: (
I think the main reason few people thing of the snowball thing is because they are our only weapon at the start, so we're leery about using them. Plus, most of us don't have to deal with snow on a regular basis, so we just don't think of making snowblocks from them.

NO EXCUSES!!!
Anyways, I thought snowballs didn't do any damage?

WHAT?!
Danger zone.

For an actor, Joe Hills plays a dumb guy very well.
You just lost the game.
