Just started nightmare realm and I have to say that it is my favorite of all your maps. The timed challenge of saving the house was purely genius on your part Vechs.
Also, anyone know where to find magenta wool on infernal sky II?
He said it would be more about exploration and setting up permanent, well-functioning bases than his other maps. In for example Legendary you would always be on the move and there would never be any reason to build all those cool things you'd want in a proper base, but he wanted that to be possible in 10. That's what I can remember from whatever post I read thousands of pages ago. I assume and think it is open-world too.
I am also suprised I haven't seen more pistons. I guess they are breakable, but it is quicker than tnt for making the floor disappear instantly and is less suspicious than gravel, at least for the first time.
You can only hide pistons around the edges, so at least one of the sides of a removable floor pit must be only two blocks long or wide, which makes for a very easily escapable trap.
But I have plans for pistons.

Somehow I managed to not lose a single item going through it. No wait, lost the minecart that you provided to get there but I don't think that there is a way to save that.
Loved the dropping the minecart through a block mechanic. I have never seen it before and It's an awesome way of making a 1 way door.
You do have a slight bug with it. I managed to get through a second time, rather sneakily I might add, using some also interesting minecart mechanics :wink.gif:.
Didn't manage to get anything new the second time through tho, also your pixel art skills are top notch although I was surprised at the use of torches for illumination.
Vechs, Have you thought of doing a 'Castlevania' style map? I have tried doing one a few times and made some ok ones, but one done by you would be god like....and would give me nightmares for 3 years.
I am trying to imagine a castle that goes from top to bottom of the map with caves and catacombs under it.....boss rooms, very few safe areas and at the very top a mob spawner that pops out....Vechs. We all fail.

Several pages ago everyone (OK, at least three people and their supporters) had some ideas for a castle themed map, or at least a section of one. So I kind of expect that to be a map in the near future. Also, Vechs, if you make a map based on a Castle you may want to look up actual castle design and defense structures.
What happened with me and the Nightmare Realm secret area. This post is worth a read, Vechs.
I was casually mining out ores earlier when I noticed it. Stashed all my stuff, checked out the back of the track, and saw the trick you used. I actually use that for my base in SMP, clever of you to use it too. So I got in the cart, clipped in, and found your secret area. Did end up dying of course, but I only lost a Minecart, nothing big. So I went back, this time with sandstone, fences, torches, a chest, 14 obsidian, a flint and tinder and my oh-so-sacred water bucket. As soon as I clipped through, right after the damage when the bedrock came into view, I placed the water, fell down into the cobwebs, exited the minecart and waited for the water to fall. The water knocked out only the middle cobweb, allowing me to get up into the water pillar and place sandstone on one of the cobwebs. I then covered all the cobweb in sandstone, extended the platform on all sides and then added fences, placed everything in the chest except the14 Obsidian and the tinder; linked up my portal in the trollbox with the portal to the False Harvest, which then led back to the main portal on the ribbons. I now have access to all that delicious obsidian with which to craft me a nice bunker out of.
