Another thing: since it's quite hard to fit buildings together, please post the dimensions of any buildings you post so that they can be fitted together onto single blocks. Also, total dimensions that are multiples of 8 are preferable, since it increases the chances of buildings having the same dimensions and allows us to fill the gaps with simple 8 block wide things like dumpsters.
Suggestion: Perhaps integrate some mods into it? Ex- Monster Mods, Maybe SDK's mod, perhaps special arrow mods.
We actually plan to release a version containing items for SDK's mod as it provides quite a lot of variation in gameplay styles. The good ol' plain minecraft version will also be available. As for some other mods, we'll see. It is fairly early in the project, so changes can be made.
I really wish I had like a mediafire account or something like that, because I have this bomber thing on MCedit, just a little something i had an idea for, 2 TNT slots in cockpit, large bay in the back, wings, and a back hatch already down. If i can get it into a file that I can post somewhere, I'll send it in.
But I came to post my thing for the Liberty Mall testing. As a storyline, you start out on the bed with a doctor* standing above you saying "Good Evening. Welcome to the Brown Books store in Liberty Mall. We are currently under attack, take this sword and bow and meet up with *NPC name*." You can elaborate on the rest from there, but the objectives could be things like collect arrows or bones, feathers, string and sulpher, or exploring the city for other survivors, or fighting back the evil monster hordes in hopes of getting to the power station/hospital/ military base/ conveinence store in hopes of getting generators, medical supplies, weapons and food, all in the hopes of gaining approval from Notch!
Could you make a small map in the additional to the original one?
Cuz I REALLY want to play this map (when it arrives..) but I'm afraid my computer wont handle
a large map :/
Also, I would LOVE to make a building for you guys.
Only problem is that I don't have a mediafire account (Does it take long time to make one?)
To those asking:
You actually don't need to make a mediafire account to upload stuff. There should be a large button the homepage that says "Upload Without Account" or something similar.

drfroob is right of course, you dont actually have to have an account in order to upload something. The easiest way to upload is to just get the schematic of your object and put it on mediafire, simple and easy to do. If you are having troubles uploading, PM me and ill help you out.

Ill see what I can do.
Also, if you want any mods to be added to the modded map, post it up here and ill choose whichever ones seem most popular. At the moment there is SDK's gun mod, but that is about it (Just to make sure people know, we have one version of the map WITH mods and one version without. Both will be released). If I can figure out how to add a poll, ill put one up.

To make a poll, edit your post, and look under the submit button. There should be a series of tabs with "Options" "Upload Attachment" and "Poll creation". You can make your poll with the "Poll creation" tab.
played and cleared out 100% of the mobs lit the whole place up so no more baddies will spawn it wasent easy but i loved it. also you should add more zombie spawners so it lowers the spawn rate of the other mobs so its more like a zombie apoclypse. ALSO i would love to help test and build for this map
So I did a quick run-through of the Liberty Mall...
My report: while I understand that building larger structures and such takes loads of time and all, if its going to live up to the name "Liberty Mall"... it needs to be larger. More open. More places. And definitely more monsters. I had it set to hard, put the time to night before I went inside, and by dawn the place had no monsters spawning in it, and I had taken very little damage with most uses on my sword remaining and 10 arrows (out of the 16 I had grabbed from the chest, though I did pick more up from skeletons). Perhaps this is just because I play adventure maps all the time, but it felt a little too easy. I found the two chests mostly by sheer chance, after hunting for the last zombie spawner and busting through the walls; I dislike the idea of them both being in the same room, and in a hidden room many people would fail to discover without using the pickaxe and intentionally hunting and knowing they were missing two chests. I would recommend putting one somewhere out in the open - not in an easy spot, mind you, but somewhere that doesn't require digging to find - and another one hidden in some secret room somewhere; the first can have less-great items than the hidden one, to make the reward greater.
As the building is, I think the design is great. The fire doesn't really get in the way at all, and it has a really nice apocalyptic feel to it. If you don't want to make it bigger or anything, just change the chest locations and add more spawners or something.
All in all, great job guys! I look forward to downloading the full city when you're done. :3

ALSO ( I could probably just edit my first message, but whatevs).
Texture pack.
It looks great, it helped to give that apocalyptic feel. Though you might want to change netherrack so it looks like stone or something; it stood out a lot and just looked awkward with the rest of the stuff.
Re-skinning the mobs could go a long way, too. I noticed that your .png for the pack is modeled like Left 4 Dead: perhaps you could re-skin the zombies so they look more humanoid, with splotches of blood, maybe missing parts, etc.
Just a suggestion. =)

Maybe post a list of builds you have done, or really want, so people know what to do next. As for more mods, Mo' Foodz would be a good one, as it would allow you to fill shops and other places with more moden food. (there were two others which I can't remember, I will link them later)
Have you thought about maybe doing a small story to go with it? Say, other people trapped in the city leaving notes, either helping or hindering the player. You could say at the start that you can ignor any and all notes.
We were thinking of adding a list of buildings that we needed, and will most likely add one up soon. As for a small story, I think we planned to add something like that in the near future

Glad you liked it. I understand where you are coming from, and will probably change where the boxes are in the Mall. We havent started to put boxes in to the city as of yet, simply because we need information from players such as you

Perhaps you could team up with this guy?

I talked about the idea earlier this month with the team but I think overall we would prefer to keep this city the work of forum users who choose to contribute and ourselves. If BenJ does express interest we may (possibly) have a go, but at this point in time it's a no go.
I've been playing the Mall and i have to say its pretty awesome. I do have to say the mall should be a bit bigger, but other than that it looks pretty good. I can't wait for the finished project!

Bear in mind that we will have hundreds of other buildings to explore, some much harder and some much easier than the mall.
