Apologies, have been quite busy lately. Personally I think 500x500 would be a bit small, 1000x1000 will be worth the wait . I will reply to all my PMs, just give me a little time.
I am working on a building I am calling the "FP Multiuse Facility" for the sake of it.
4 floors
Each floor with a different theme (Lobby, housing, stores, offices)
TNT in convenient places
Flammable, outer walls are smoothstone, but the floors on lvl 2 and above are wooden.
Possibly a mob spawner, spawning specifically humans (Military / Group hired to contain outbreak, occupying the building)
I would prefer that you or your team make it look destroyed, MCedit is a ***** with building it, and I can only image the hell I will go through making it look destroyed.
I should mention it is mainly open space, but the human mob is great in open spaces IMO.

Just to be clear here; There is actually a human mob? That is part of the normal game? Remember, if it is part of a mod we wont be able to put it in
Just making sure, I wasnt aware such a thing existed. But still, ty for contributing.

I believe there is a human mob. It works like a zombie, but uses the default skin. It is called "monster". I believe it was first used in early creative versions.

Hosting images on MediaFire? Are you high on cat urine?
I feel sad, because I was making one just like this.
By myself.
Aah, ive seen you in the Zombietown thread.
But I agree, collaboration is the best idea here. I think yours was 15000x15000? Ours is quite compact, but if you do feel like lending a hand feel free to contribute

Krunchyman is making something similar to this except his is 15000x15000 blocks big.
Anyway, work has to be put on hold for the moment due to the Beta 1.3 update and the lack of level editors that can read the new save files.
During the lull in progress, I have a question for all the builders:
If you were to change sandstone, what would you replace it with?
I'm considering changing the sandstone texture, because we already have a yellow block, and sandstone is one of the few blocks that have separate top, bottom and side textures. Right now I'm thinking of sandbags, but I'd like to ask if anybody else has else has any better ideas.
Also, what are your thoughts on the texture pack? It's been pushed out largely for the purpose of adding a bit of colour to the city (and of course because sponge/lapis lazuli ore/iron ore don't really have a place in the city) but which of the new blocks would you use? And which do you wish you could use?
Hmm this looks alot like ZombieTown; only its better looking, better planned, and it has a team of people instead of one lazy college student working on it.
Good luck fellas
Although, did you really need to steal my thread's layout and color coded list? C'mon man. I worked hard on those.
Maybe we should combine our work. What are your roads like? I'm using half step strips for the sidewalks. The roads are seven blocks long. I have about ten buildings, maybe.

The iteration of these lines brings gold;
The framing of this circle on the ground
Brings whirlwinds, tempests, thunder and lightning.

Yes, Ive been meaning to change the layout. I did model this project on ZombieTown - It wasnt going to be released originally, but since it is a big project we thought we could use some help on it. The trouble is, once you have seen an example of what you are trying to achieve or portray you cant help but copy it - No matter how I try to change it, it always looks like your thread :Zombie:. Why change something that is perfect?
But I do agree, I will change the layout in the very near future.

Our current roads are simply obsidian, double laned roads that are 13 blocks wide, with white cloth serving as a replacement for the lines. However, a recent change to the texture pack means that we can integrate better looking lines:
Ignore the redstone to the right, it has been fixed.

That looks excellent. Here's a few shots of my city. I have a lot more than what's in the photos, actually.
I think if we're going to work together, the city is going to have to be larger. I've been wanting to build a very large city.
Id prefer not to have buildings with Iron Block floors. They may look good but, in a challenge situation like this one, will potentially provide way too many resources.

Haha, same issue I had. I went a different route and eliminated crafting from my game entirely. (Boy, did people ever complain! Buncha whiners.)

My one real road is a highway on a bridge
- iron block
- gold block
etc
