Awesome, can't wait for the next one, but I got to the alternate ending with an alternate method. I did kill the pig, but I had saved up enough dirt and cobblestone through the course of the test to simply pillar my way back up. Maybe a door that closes permanently in the hallway if you kill the pig?
That's actually the way it's supposed to happen, really.

Actually, if you DON'T kill the previous subject, your digging will drop you onto the TNT that would have killed him, allowing you to simply walk out (no building required).
TurtleeyMC - I am perfectly open to any suggestions/puzzle you might have the EscapeCraft 3. Send me some ideas and we'll talk. (Also, my IQ is 146, not 140 - but freakishly close guess sir)
_illusionist - as you may have read above, I could use some help in the texture pack department for this next one. Nothing too complicated (swapping a couple block textures, possibly a reskin for the ghast or skeleton). I'd love any help you could lend me!
merlinus, would you be comfortable putting my videos on your original post? It's basically a walkthrough, I guess, but I don't really reveal the true secret ending since I pillar'd up to the secret exit and I was also playing version 11, not 12.
Here's the video link again:
I'm just afraid that people would miss it when they're desparate for help
I loved this one even more than EC1!
THis one was much more creative.
If you make a special EC3 texture pack, if you make a special appearance of herobrine, you've got to put it in an extremely freaky place, so everyone that sees him will have a heartattack! You Just HAVE too. lol

"More fun than a barrel of monkeys." Has anyone ever stopped to think how cranky, if not downright vicious, a barrelful of monkeys would be, especially once released from the barrel? -Tom Shales
I dunno if you should fix the use of pillaring with the dirt you get from digging at the end, that just makes it so that everyone can get the secret ending without doing the ''real'' thing. Maybe remove the dirt entirely so you just jump down? But anyways great map, i love your creativity and the falling staircase was AWESOME! Waiting for EC3 :smile.gif: Really good job!
Alternatively, you can just have that switch trigger an iron door to close off the secret path as suggested before.
MrScaryMuffin, in addition to volunteer to help work on EscapeCraft 3, has also provided a very helpful and occasionally hilarious walkthrough video that is almost certainly more helpful than my walkthrough "hints." Obviously, MAJOR spoilers in the video - if you are just looking for a little bit of help, I recommend the more vaguely worded hints that follow. For "OMG IM COMPLETELY STUCK WHY DID YOU MAKE THIS STUPID GAME" sort of assistance, use the video. (Also note that he uses some... unorthodox methods and goes some places I didn't really mean for you to).

awesome game, except if feel like I didn't do the ending right or something...
firstly, in the dissection room with the 4 sand in it I assume there was supposed to be a creeper or something to make tnt to break the glass to get out? I just broke the glass by hand to get out.
edit: oops, just watched that youtube video and realized I forgot to change the settings in that room
secondly, on the 1st cannon I didn't get launched all the way to the pad, I landed on one of the walkways in front of it. I just broke a bunch of the lightstone, crafted lightstone blocks, and pillared up to the platform with the second cannon, launched myself again, and made it. I'm not sure if I did something wrong on the first cannon.
oh, I ran into one other problem on the first time through.
on the room where you have to use water to turn off the right torch to open the door, the first time I missed, which exploded me... and my bucket. so I couldn't place the the water in the door right after that, went in to break the circuit by hand, and was trapped inside.
I like them quite a bit (sorry for my failure to reply to your PM sooner - I'm in the middle of writing 4 papers this week and getting a little loopy). I'll almost certainly be including at least 2 of them in the game.
I would have mentioned you (and will, in the post for the new game) - MrScary got a special mention because he is currently building puzzles for me (and because I needed to introduce his video anyway). It turns out that I am terrible with minecarts, and he is a bit of a wizard with them (particularly boosters). Those who bemoaned their omission from the current game should be happy with the new one.
By the way, anyone who wishes to contribute ideas/fully assembled puzzles for the next game is more than welcome to do so. This time around I am constructing rooms individually and exporting them into MCEdit as schematics. This should make final construction FAR easier in general and has the pleasant side-benefit of making the incorporation of others' ideas much more feasible.
So, if you'd like to see your ideas in EscapeCraft 3, shoot me a schematic and I'll be happy to take a look (and, of course, give you the credit when it is released).
I'll almost certainly be including at least 2 of them in the game..
Those ideas were like those little cups they hand you at smoothie shops and ice creameries!
I made those up in less then an hour. Are you being sarcastic?

No, I'm serious. While a couple were variations of stuff I've done or was thinking of implementing in this new game already, several were ideas that hadn't occurred to me or interesting permutations of existing ideas that I think would look cool.
Even seemingly simple ideas are very helpful - in one month I've made two of these games, and there haven't been that many new mechanics added to Minecraft during that time. A fresh approach to some existing types of puzzles is often what's needed (I'm working out your water concept in paint atm). Your fire idea inspired me for a new puzzle that, while not exactly what you described, is different from what I've done previously.
Enjoy your donation, good sir. I would have given you more, but I wasn't aware that our currency was so good to the USD at this point in time.
Thank you SO much. I greatly appreciate you all's support!
No problem, comrade.
I mean, I haven't even played the maps yet - too busy with essays and exams - but the first time I saw this topic and I saw the 'donate' button, I thought 'why should I donate, that'd be him making money off of Minecraft', but then I read the thread and heard how ingenious this is, and thought 'well, since it's sort of like a mod, I might as well support it and if he ever makes any independent games in the future it might help.'

As for Escapecraft 3, I would be a good builder. Tell me what to do and I can do it. Just saying and sort of volunteering. I WOULD NOT be a good planner or tester. Building is my strong point!

I used the TNT in the sand room to get lots of cobblestone, then I pillared my way up.

I salute you for your downright insane devotion to this project! :biggrin.gif:
