Another update on the sequel...and possibly a bump...
I am one of the testers, and I wanted to tell you all that the sequel is great! I don't want to give anything away, but I will say it is better than the first one.
Don't you guys miss it! merlinus12 did an excellent job. :smile.gif:
Maybe to fix the spawning problem of the first game, when people complete a level or room, they could upload a save file for that point, so that you can just reinstall at that room.
The spawn problem seems to be that spawn points require open sky above them. I've been busy with the new version or I would go back and change the initial room to have no ceiling or obsidian layer above it.
If anyone wants to correct it that'd be great.
I was going to fix this for you, but there seems to be something else at play here, I'm just not sure what. I completely took off the obsidian roof, and the roof of the spawn area so that there was a direct route to the sky...spawning still failed. After many trial and errors with a few different programs, I decided to try a different route and was thinking of something like spawning on the very top and riding a waterfall down to the first room. I tried to make the spawn point on top of the obsidian roof.....same issue as before. I'm not sure exactly the dynamics of spawning, but maybe there is a height limit? Maybe there needs to be certain type of landscape around you? So, neither an open roof nor even spawning on the top of the roof seems to work...hmmmm
D: Failed on the trapped floor one. I made it through the previous by COMPLETE fluke. I was like "Okay. I gave myself 3 chances to look at the cheatsheet. I've used one now, time for my sec-*click* *door swings open*

boom. Game over. Also, my laptop just crashed on me. Your TNT gave me a blue screen...That's not too cool. Thank god for recovery discs.

Proudly wanting Classic Alpha to truly become Survival Alpha. Mobs killing blocks, ridiculously powerful beasts, and insanely unfair gameplay. Classic Alpha is boring. I want SURVIVAL alpha! Eh? Eh? ***** all you want.

Yikes! Though, I would argue that it's Notch's TNT (I just borrowed it).
Work on the sequel is continuing. My most recent testers broke the things quite thoroughly (silly out-of-the-box thinkers), so I'm going to need to do a little more work. At this point I'm hoping for a Friday release.
I could still use a few more testers - let me know if you are interested. In particular, one of the redstone puzzles seems... problematic. Could use someone with expertise in that area.
Amazing game, bravo. I loved the length of it and dreaded the time when It would end :tongue.gif:
However, third last room (tnt ceiling) was a bit of annoyance :tongue.gif:
One will most likely fail a lot here unless you cheat, and when you set of the charges (like I did) I blew up the entire room, + half of the second last room + the fourth last room :tongue.gif: I lived though, but I cheated in torches and i picked up a lot of stone, made a bridge to the second last room and finished.
A little less tnt maybe, just enough to kill somebody >:biggrin.gif:
Soooo did anyone else climb the wall in room 6 using only 1 bucket of water? I never needed the infinite pool. Had to get a hint on the pressure plate path room though.

Someone's a tad strong in their use of anti-feminine derogatory metaphors today.
I made it to the third last room (TNT Ceiling), had no idea what to do, took a guess, heard a sizzle, and ran back into the other room. I ended up in half a room, looking across a mob-infested gap into the next room. I had a lot of *helpful* items too. Oh well.

That, sir, is an understatement.
Yes, Emily broke the whole damn thing. Mind you, she was the ONLY tester to do so (though I also think she was the only tester who explicitly set out to break things).
I'm having quite a bit of trouble redesigning one of the puzzles (I hate redstone). I'm hoping to finish everything by Monday. For those of you who were waiting anxiously, sorry for the delay.
This is like SAW.....all over again. Would be fun if there were chains and clocks and micrphones and speakers so you could haunt people who play in SMP. Stuck in bedrock room.....deadly gas...

It means that you cant get out. I wrote a crossover. Bedrock room(obesidian soz mistake) and deady gas from saw.
Anyway I got up to up elevator part alternating buckets, then I glicthed somewhere, but didn't fall and died? I saw some trees. So I reloaded last save by pressing esc and was back to the up ele and finished it.
The last part was hard. Btw why was a zombie there?
I made myself a diamond sword! You can too! 2nd room there is diamond near door. Then soon there is more adding up to 5. Next you should get the remaining wood by destroying the one you put pillaring up. Then craft and tadaa! Or diamond pick and you can escape...lol.
Pretty fun. I rate this 10/10

This problem is already known, but for some reason won't change with editing programs.
