Hello and welcome to my first post. I'm going to help you guys who want to make mods well, make mods XD. Ok to start off you will need MCreator by Pylo. Follow the instructions to install it and I will get on with my first tutorial.
To make a block, you need to either create a texture for it or use and already made texture. If your confused on which side is which, imagine it as a paper you need to fold or something like that. The 4 blocks across like this [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] are the sides. The block above the second square is the top, and bellow the second square is the bottom. This is how to make a basic block. There are more options on the next page of the block making. I can explain quite a few and if I miss or do not understand what some do, I will add more to this post.Name in GUI means what is the name of the block in the game. Hardness is how hard the block is to break. Resistanceis how hard it is to tnt. Has gravity is if it falls when nothing is under it or is stuck to a piston. Creative inventory tab is which section of the creative inventory it will appear in. Tool able to destroy it sets it to which tool it should be broken with. Does't drop itself means will it drop itself or something else. If you say 'yes', the grey square bellow it will activate and you can selet what it drops. Drop amount is how many of item it droped. Isn't collidable means you can't walk through the block if this is not turned on. Can provide power means that you can attach redstone to the block and it will provide power. Light opacity means if light can pass through the block. Set it to 255 if you want light to completely pass through it. Material gives the generating properties of the block you set it to. Ex: set it to iron ore and it will spawn like ore. Sound when stepped on is self explainitory. Luminance is how much like comes out of the block. Is unbreakable is also self explainitory. I'm sorry but there is no information on the harvest level to break. If you know tell me in the comments! The events are things that happen when certain things happen to the block. You can either choose an option or code one. Crafting and smelting recipes are how you get the item by doing those. If you click world generation you can chose options about where it spawns and how much of it spawn in each chunk. The scrolling thing on the left is to set the layer radius it spawns in. Generate in world and Generate in nether are self explainitory. Frequency on chunks is is how frequent it spawns in 1 chunk. Frequency in specific chunks is how much it spawns in certain chunks.
That is all the things explained about a block in MCreator. Comment to tell me what you thought and if this helped. Next tutorial will be Items! See you later!
Do u go on spawn entity and how do u select default condition.
sorry i'm new
Don't worry about being new, and sorry I made a typing mistake I mean't to say you will need to select one of the default conditions, which is the ones that are already there. Also spawn entity I'm pretty sure just spawns an item/block not a mob. Sorry to say, but I just did some research, and it looks like you will need to get a custom code to spawn a mob.
I set left Isn't collidable unchecked, and i couldnt walk through it
I checked it and i get stuck in the block.
I want to be able to have the block, but be able to walk through it

I personaly haven't tryed it myself, I just got the information for it. It's most likely a bug though. Also leaving it unchecked means it can't be walked through.
Hey I don't know if you are still looking at this post. But I had a question, (And I'm desperate for an answer) I'm trying to make a block, that every time you right-click with a specific item that will give you 6 blocks in return. That block being Planks, a certain type of planks. When I'm messing around with the Event section (to select which block should be added to your inventory) It just comes up with this mixture of planks all in one block, and not each individual wood type. I was wondering if there was some sort of custom code to make that happen, or some other result. BTW the block I'm making is a Saw Mill Machine.

You will need to use default condition or make a custom condition under one of the events. Custom conditions require actual coding.

How do you make blocks spawn in the end? I don't see it in the world gen. Is it not implemented in yet or am I just looking in the wrong spot?
Is it Possible to make the block spawn in certain dimensions?
