I'm trying to connect with someone via LAN, but we're having a lot of trouble getting it to work. We are on the same wifi which both computers have set to private. We both have the same version of java and the same minecraft version (1.12.2). Neither of us are running mods and our firewalls are not blocking minecraft.
I tried deleting and reinstalling minecraft on my computer, but it didn't help the other computer to connect to it. My world shows up on the other computer, but the other computer's world is not visible on mine. When the other computer tries to connect there's an error message saying the connection timed out, and even when trying a direct connect it just gets another error message. I don't understand what could be causing these issues other than maybe the second computer not having the best wifi, as sometimes it disconnects for a few seconds, but even then it's not constantly happening.

Computer 2: windows 10 home, 8 GB ram, 1,000 GB HDD, i5-9400 CPU, 2.90 GHz
