I'm wondering if there is a way to reload the chunks so that you can get the newer ores and things like mods and updates. I mean, like I have a world that I built in 1.6.4 and I love exploring, so I loaded in a lot of the chunks. Now you think this would be fine, but if I do any mods, or load up the world in the current version, I have to travel for ever in order to load in new chunks. I'm sure there is a way, but I'm not sure how. Because how do youtubers like Etho, who have built there world ages ago, still get new blocks and items? Any help appreciated.
Well I guess something I can do, is remake the world, with the same seed, and just copy my house and stuff into the other world. At the same coords. Thanks for the idea though.

The way they get them is going far away to new chunks, or using mcedit to cut chunks that are already in the world so they regenerate
For mods, you can use retrogen, but im not sure how it works in structures
