So basically I'll have a good 100-200+ fps and then every 20-40 seconds it drops significantly to 20 (sometimes lower) fps and stays there for 3 seconds before jumping back up.
Things You Should Know
• Using the the Shift + F3 menu, the pie chart will have a huge jump in ScheduledExecutables when the lag spikes occur
------◘ I tried to look up ScheduledExecutables and consult minecraft players on servers with no luck
• I'm using Minecraft 1.10 with Optifine
• This only happens with 256x and above resource packs
• My JVM arguments are -Xmx4G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn128M (these are what have been there by default only change is the RAM allocation)
Never do that. It completely breaks thread flow and context.
And it looks like this may be an issue of VRAM/disk access speed. You need a very good GPU to run smoothly with a 256 resource pack. And the 960M, being a mobile GPU, is not that good.
ah ok thanks! Kind of throws me back though when I can run beautiful games like Rocket League, Black Ops 3, Sonic Generations, etc. smoothly but can't run a 256x resource pack? But then again when there's a block on the edge of your render distance I believe your PC still loads it as a 256x texture which I think they should change in a later update to make the overall game play WAY smoother!
Updating the main post now for easy access!
