I need a cheap 800 dollar build for my brother in law. I really have been looking at the 7950 because he games a lot.
He needs os, and lives in the states.
For a well balanced build I think the 7950 is a high target, i'm sure someone can do it. 1tb Segate barracuda and a CX-600 or similar PSU. Some ATX case a FX-6200?

Proud member of the MCF AWA war of '13! if someone suggests Alienware or Cyberpower, wait for a custom-built list from someone who knows their stuff. Meh Rig
the 6300 should have enough power to not bottleneck a 7970, let along a 7950.
and when i made it it was the price it shows to be, i disabled rebates on my Pcpartpicker to get actual prices (who actually does rebates?)
also, i have heard around the forums here Asrock's lower priced boards have quality issues.

No you haven't. You've heard exactly 1 person claim they are worse than they actually are (and in multiple threads), with 1 or two specific boards (not series, or brands, the board models specifically) having some issues.
The boards are fine, with the exception of a couple models I am too lazy to try and remember.

Looks good, but what about the FX core? It could bottleneck. Maybe don't take the risk?
