In regards to improvements, I did setup a website for a short time similar to BestMinecraftHosts but with an additional feature of people being able to request paid, free, and sponsored hosting. BestMinecraftHosts is fairly inactive, ugly, and cluttered right now but my idea went to the graveyard because of how difficult it was to get forum users here to request their hosting through my website instead.
I still have all website files and considered rewriting it to improve on the issues it had originally but due to how inactive it was, I can't find the effort to do so.

PotionHost has looked into this quite a few times. Maybe ChromoByte or you in particular could team up with us on a project like this. Anyways, it's a great way to help hosts that need it and to find out how good some really are.
Of course I'm sure of the consequences. The benefits of creating one obviously outweighs the negative impacts of doing so. You may disagree but that's your own opinion. Everyone have their own opinion and argument. There's no need to question me about my knowledge of these forums and the consequences.
It doesn't
Minecraftforum is a community forum, and the hosts are a minority. In most cases they want the majority to be happy.
Maybe a forum just isn't the right place or format for this type of thing. WHT has a similar setup where you can advertise and ask for hosting there but in that environment it is paid only. I've never seen a free or sponsored hosting request here. Due to all the varieties of requests here, a single section is not enough. Furthermore if creating different sections for each type of request isn't a possibility, then maybe something outside of a forum should be done...
1. Im a random user, i post in request for a host.
2. i get spamed with "PICK ME PICK ME IM 2$ FOR 10000000GB AND 99999999SLOTS WAYCOOLHOST.TK?aff=2842"
3. i think ok, what ever, read the next one "O YA HOST ABOVE ME, IM 1$ FOR 1000 TIMES YOURS"
4. repeat 2-3 about 4 times.
5. i quit.
Now lets think of this with its own subform.
1. i post my fancy post
2. some one, like my self see's it, knows its some one not wanting to put money down and i make my counter offer.
3. person finds or dosent find host.
4. person makes server, or lives unspamed.
what one is better for you? because the 1st one is what happens now.
This is an unrealistic expectation. Also, very few people do that anymore.

On the contrary, it's fine. If you want to advertise outside the forum, it's your company, it's your choice

I'm sorry if I'm getting to be a bit on the annoying side by now (I think I'm probably at the so-annoying-nobody-listens-to-me-anymore point by now), but what exactly makes you think that everything will be splendid and fine with a new section? What is there to prevent the current situation from occurring yet again?
As I see it, if the Hosting Requests subforum is split, the only change would be organizational. There would really be no difference in the posts that would go on in each - hosts seeking to sponsor people would keep posting as always, and hosts that are advertising for a paying customer would keep on advertising as always.
Besides, I've said it before, but it's highly impractical that any changes are going to be made to separate sponsorships from paid requests because of the organizational complications and effects. I've always felt that if sponsorships were shoved off to a side, hosts aren't going to take them as seriously as they should be, and eventually stop looking at them all-together. Then again, maybe it's just me. I've only ever dealt with sponsorships back when I used to work in hosting, so that may just be because I'm very very biased.
Would having an approval system allowing only ''approved'' hosts to post on the topics in the paid section fix this problem? Although I feel that would be more work for the already busy moderators etc. But it would definitely fix the problem a lot of us are talking about.
Never annoying AdduxP, your input is always valued at MCF
Edit: I see what you mean and you're probably right.. a lot of hosts might just completely ignore the sponsorship's section if it's separated.

I've been trying to say that, but I've been somewhat indirect.

"Approved" isn't really the right term for hosts who can post in the main section; it's more like "vetted". The Forums has never and will never "promote" any one hosting company; the only purpose of separating hosts is that people looking for a host will have more confidence in going with a host from the main section than from Other Hosts, since those hosts haven't gone through the vetting process yet. There's really no distinction or special treatment in being in either section - you're subjugated to the same rules and the same requests forum; the only real difference is the location of your company thread.
Besides, there are a lot of really trustworthy hosts in the Other Hosts section that aren't in the main section for some reason or another. It's not very fair to bar an entire group of people from posting just because a few hosts in there are consistently breaking the rules.
But as a host myself, I feel unethical reporting other's offers.
Rules are the rules, if they violate them. It's their fault for not following them correctly. I can personally understand the extreme competition for customers are, but MCF isn't a free for all brawl. Just remember that.
For all server hosts reading this post, feel free to freshen up on the Minecraft Server Hosting rules and the Server Rules. This might save yourself a infraction or 2.

Just out of curiosity, who uses this feature :
You've just enlightened me that there was such a feature... took some clicking but i found it..
This could save a lot of time in the future for me

I guess there is really no solution for this problem then I'm interested in other peoples suggestions on how to combat these posts.

Copy Paste Posts
This is considered spam and is not allowed in any section, even if the post is relevant to the topic.
That all depends if you report it or not. We aren't miracle workers.

I wouldn't go far as to call it a problem, for the majority of us, it isn't. Only for a few grumpy hosts
