He's just stating that, weather it has malwares or not, it's against adfly ToS and they don't encourage it. It's like trying to blame Google when a suspicious website appear on their results or in their images. They do the best they can to stop this, but all people do is complain about everything in life.
Use some linux distribution if you don't like malwares. If you want to use Windows, then get some security software to protect yourself from scam. If you still don't want to do so, block adfly from your browser by using a adblocker or use some skipper to jump it. If you still don't want to do so, don't click an adfly link and don't download the mod you want.
Clearly the guy couldn't come up with anything but saying that people don't need those pennies, just because he doesn't like the pennies and thinks that they are worthless. It's not about those pennies in the first place, it's just about the feeling of getting something in return for the work, the symbol that those pennies represents, along with suggestions, lots of complaints, bug reports, getting some minimal money (even if it's only enough to buy a movie ticket) is something that some people (like me) find that's encouraging to keep working on that project (in a society that barely allow people to work for free).
I'm fine with adf.ly for downloading mods and don't really mind it, however putting your mod behind multiple adf.ly links (Redpower, anyone) is just ridiculous and should be against the forum rules.
