I was doing this Forum RP called Universal Paradox where everyone got along with each other. I then noticed some guy swearing but reporting him was just the start of the problems.
I could either choose to leave it and risk an infraction for responding without reporting, or I could report and not risk an infraction if I responded. But, as a result of reporting, I got into a large scale argument that took up 2 pages. As a result of reporting someone, I lost my friends, I'm ignored, I'm banned from the RP, and I am now generally disliked due to reporting.
Which is right? Listening to your friends or reporting them?
Note: I had 2 infraction points at the time, I didn't want to get suspended for any longer.
You do not receive infractions for responding to a post that is breaking the rules. Your respond post simply gets hidden along with the rule-breaking post. The only way you MAY receive an informal maybe, is if you respond to a rule-breaking post with something like "hey, you're breaking [inser rule here]" instead of simply reporting the post. This is because it can be considered mini-modding, and because telling someone you've reported them, or that they're breaking certain rules can cause arguements, so the staff would much rather you simply report the post and move on, so they may send you an informal just to let you know. You are not obligated to report posts, just don't argue with someone who is breaking the rules, simply report them - or don't, but don't fight them over it.

So anyway, what am I going to do now? I'm now banned for 'disruption' on the RP and now I might get banned permanently on it.
Take it up in a PM with the owners of the RP?
Explain the situation and such.
Also if you see friends swearing and such, which is what i think i get from your first post, perhaps sending them a PM saying hey, you could get in trouble for this, perhaps you should edit it out.

Your friendly neighborhood dragon. Don't be scared, I won't bite!
I am here for you, Don't be afraid to send me a message.
No pressure, mate, I've even been choked for snitching up an entire pack of bullies in the past.
I'd say it all depends on the rules. If the community was more like the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, then you need to stand up for human rights. However, in your case, your "friends" are rather much better off out of sight.
The one who swore a lot might have had reasons to do so, but at the same time, banning up someone for simply reporting that is plain admin/social abuse. It's nowhere close to being normal, but it's just too bad I suffered it a billion times.
I know, it sounds unbelievable, but whenever I recall what I suffered I never joke about it.
@everyone else
Does anyone have a clue what he means by RP? I don't think he's talking about this forum.
These forums have a RP section and that is what i assume he is talking about.
Yea but he said he's been banned so I think he's talking about someplace else. He wouldn't be able to post here at all if he was banned here. What's RP anyway, is it a forum or a server?

RP is Roleplaying.
But um, from what I've read, those guys don't seem much of the 'friendly' type. But I would say your friends in a lot of cases. Unless they are doing something really bad.
They're not, they just happen to be on the same RP's.
I wouldn't say they're even close to being his friends at all either. Those who treat people that badly don't deserve to befriend anyone. Believe me, I've suffered plenty of hacks and instant bans.

Well can you sort this matter out then?

He's offline (right now), and I've already got a mod. Even so, they won't really listen to me, considering even the admin joined in the argument.
As a result of this, I'm not allowed to join a RP created by a guy who participated in the argument, since the damage has been done.
