Q:What are the forum rules? A: You can find the forum rules here, or linked to at the top of every forum index. Not bothering to read them is no excuse for breaking them.
Q:What are the post ranks? Why am I a tree puncher? Why am I the answer to life, the universe, and everything? A: Read about post ranks here.
Q:How do I make spoilers? A: Like this:
Typing the above gives you this:
Q:How do I change the title of my own thread? A: Edit the first post and then click on the "Use Full Editor" button. There will be boxes to edit the title and subtitle.
Q:How do I post an image or screenshot? A: Upload the image to a host and then type the URL of the uploaded image into the space for the Insert Image button. Alternatively, just paste the URL and surround it with image tags like so
Opeth has created a detailed guide to posting images here.
Q:How do I post a video? A: Simply post the YouTube video URL and it will automatically embed the video for you. Make sure you use the http:// link and no the https://
Otherwise, DanielleStarr has created a detailed guide here.
Q:How do I delete my own post or thread? A: Report the post and ask a moderator to delete it. You won't receive a warning for reporting your own post.
Q:How do I lower my warning level? A: As explained in the rules, your warning level goes down by one after a month without receiving any warnings.
Q:I changed my avatar, but it still looks the same! Why?A: Your browser cache still contains the old avatar. Try refreshing the page, or going to the direct URL for your uploaded avatar and hitting refresh.
Q:What's the deal with 502 errors? A: 502 errors happen when our servers are especially overloaded with users. If you get a 502 error, just push Refresh, and push OK to "Resend info" if necessary. The page should refresh to whatever you were trying to get to. If not, refresh again. Make sure to hit Refresh one at a time or you may end up sending something more than once.
Q:A moderator abused his power and gave me a bogus warning. How can I contest this? A: You can try talking to the moderator to convince them to take back the warning. If that doesn't work, you may try contacting the moderator's supervisor for an appeal. Each section has its own admin in charge:
You can also try posting an appeal in Help - Contact the forum staff. Filing a report on the moderator to complain about the moderation will just be ignored. Creating a public thread to complain and insult the moderator will just irritate the administrators and hurt your chances.
Q:I get moderating buttons when I hover over threads. Am I a mod now? A: This is a known glitch. If you try using any of those buttons, you'll get a "You do not have permission" error.
Q:How do I make a table of contents? A: Like this:
Q:Can you help me with my Minecraft account? I paid for it, but it's not working. A: We can't help you with that. You'll have to contact Mojang.
Q:Minecraft keeps crashing! Help me? A: Ask for tech support in the Support section. Forum Discussion & Info and Help - Contact the Forum Staff are for discussing forum-related issues only.
Q:How do I change my forum username? A: You can post a request for a name change in Help - Contact the forum staff. Please note members are limited to one name change.
Q:I edited a thread and it disappeared! Why? Q: I posted a thread and got "You do not have permission to view this." Why? A: Your thread probably got a false positive from the automatic spam filter. Every time a thread is posted or edited, it checks the thread for certain common spam words and counts them up. If the post scores too high, it is automatically removed. Longer posts are more likely to get false positives simply for having more words and new users' posts are graded more harshly due to higher risk of being spambots.
Contact a moderator or admin in that section and ask them to restore the thread if this happens.
Q:Will you read my moderator application? A: Not if you keep bugging us.
Q:How can I support the forums? A: Now that the forums are owned by Curse, you can support the forums by purchasing Curse Premium. You'll also receive various bonuses as thanks.
Q:Why is there a stupid autoplay advertisement?! Make it go away! A: Autoplay ads are against Curse policy, but advertisers will occasionally try to pull a fast one on us. Please contact citricsquid with a screenshot, description, and your physical location and we'll get the advertisement removed.
If you are seeing pop-up ads, there's a chance your computer may be infected with adware. Run an adware scanner to get it removed.
