Do not wallow do not stall
Time waits for none at all
Your allowance may crawl,
It may fly or even vanish
But none will seem more lavished
Than time lost to all.

One thing I, and probably others too would like answered before I eventually file an application is this:
What specifically do you expect of the moderators?
What tasks will he be doing? Is he simply banning tards and moving topics where they should be? Is he replying to member mails on all sorts of issues? Does he need any experience with html or coding or anything of that sort, site-wise?

The most wonderful thing about science is that it doesn't ask for your faith, it asks for your eyes. The universe doesn't care about what you believe.

Moderators delete, lock and move threads appropriately. They also hand out warnings for infractions to the rules in their own designated sections. They do nothing more, though global moderators have jurisdiction over the whole forum with the same tasks as their title implies :3

Don't hold back. If you think you might have a shot, apply. If you think you don't have a good chance, apply. If you've been dissing the admins and mods since 2009...don't...
Perhaps a few tips on making your application awesome and actually considered:
Use good grammar and spelling. Nothing kills your chances like text-speaking, and using the grammar and spelling of a five-year-old
If you don't have any experiance, it's okay.
Don't use your application as a chance to bash the moderating team.
We're looking for people who can put their foot down, and be able to enforce the rules. Moderating is not about helping people. It's about making sure that people follow the rules, act sensible, and occasionally punishing people for offenses.
Being mod is not the chance to enlarge your ego.
Are you going to love the job? Do you understand that what being a moderator means? Do you understand about how demanding the job is, how little thanks you're given, how people who you thought were your friends can turn into your most bitter of enemies? Are you willing to give up the ability to speak out on how you think of against another fellow user without the 'Complainers' creating a case against you on how biased your are? Most importantly, will you love the job?

So only apply if you will do exactly whats being done? I don't dis the admins or mods, but I could see people thinking I do. If you make a mistake, I will call you out. It is that simple. A moderator should be held to higher standards than a normal user.

I welcome you to apply, and demonstrate that standard with us, Beltir. :biggrin.gif:
I would, but I am not sure I have the time. College is very taxing on my free time, and while I spend many hours here, I am normally busy with school work. I am still debating it, so I might.
As for my standards, hey, I have over a thousand posts and have not received a warning/mod edit/ been told to cool down. I try to help people on the forums as well. I would love to be more useful, but not if it affects my school work.

I know, and that's why I extended the invitation. I happen to hold your opinion in high regard. :happy.gif:

You should also add that users who are on a new account (like me) need not apply!

How long are the applications open? I'll see how some things are going in my life and figure some stuff out. Glad to hear you like my opinion Sacheverell.

I guess I shouldn't apply for trying to fix what seemed wrong to me.

What do you guys think, should I?
I've never seen you post anything too bad. I say go for it, the worst that could happen is you could be denied.

The New Boat Elevator
Simple Drowning Trap
Complex Drowning Trap
Note Blocks - The Blue Danube
Minecart Rider Detection System
That one reply is made by the OP of an application. :smile.gif:
Pikachu by @apofiss.deviantart.com
Good luck to both of us then.
Would we be receiving a PM based on our application (denied or approved), or will it be a post on the thread we make in there?
Yes, good luck to us.
