We need soem topic icons (those little blue squares) for topics that you have posted on before. It's annoying trying to find which topics with new posts you have taken part in.

Blargha! Blargha! Blargha!
I wouldn't listen to a thing I say. I'm probably insane.
I'm currently quite busy with other work so I don't have time right now to make modifications to the forums core, but I do have plans for rewriting quite a bit of the php backend. The current plan involves totally redoing the "new posts" feature, there have been numerous complaints about how bad it is so that'll be changed to function properly, whilst I'm doing that I can give changing the way new topics work.
To be clear about what I'm doing: You want a DIFFERENT icon for topics that you've posted in where there are new posts; so when this topic shows up the "new posts" list it'd have a different colour icon to the others because you posted in it and I've made a reply?

Sounds doable :smile.gif:
Yeah that's pretty much it.
I do have question about how you have the current system set up, if it's not too much trouble.
How does the "new posts" update? I think this is how you do it.
When you start a new session*, does the server execute a loop that checks every topic within a certain timeframe(the last time you signed in) for posts that were submitted after your session* ended. As soon as it finds a post submitted after that time, it leaves the topic and marks a variable as true for that topic.
That seems to me the only reason it wouldn't update constantly.
*I think session is that right word here. I basically mean when it is connected to the server. Sorry if I'm completely wrong. I just started learning web design, and I'm still only in the HTML section.
