Hello. I came here today and saw that a thread I had spent hours writing had been deleted.
May I ask: what was wrong with it? It was simply a suggestion to add new versions into the launcher.
And the funny thing here is that this isn't the first time I or my friends get silenced. Both the subreddit and the minecraft forums have been deleting posts made about one and the same thing:
Old versions of Minecraft.
I do not know why this is. It may have something to do with the fact that so many people complain about new versions, but silencing a whole community has gone too far. Posts with no offensive content about old versions get removed every week.
Dear Minecraft forums moderators and Minecraft subreddit moderators, dear Mojang:
Please make a stop to this. If someone plays old versions, it doesn't mean they hate pandas and the the fact that mojang is making the game better all the time. It's simply because there is a community that likes old versions. We have done nothing wrong.
Thank you, and have a good day. Also, please don't delete this post.
Due to the ownership transfer of Curse Media (our parent organisation) -- Curse Media has been sold by Twitch to Fandom -- we need consent from every user in the EEA (European Economic Area) to transfer their data from Twitch to Fandom, this is to ensure that we comply with European law (GDPR).
The users you are seeing with "user-[number]" names are members who are within the EEA but did not consent to the transfer and therefore their accounts have been deleted. The process is ongoing and will continue through the weekend, so during this time you may see some content display and then disappear.
For any user who has had their account deleted please submit a ticket, I cannot provide support via the forum. A ticket can be submitted by following the instructions here: https://www.minecraftforum.net/meta/support.
If anybody has any questions about the transfer of ownership or the relevant law, please let me know here. I will provide as much information as possible.
From the sound of this you should have gotten some sort of notification about this (like when the forums merged with Twitch); if not, then I'd say it is a serious omission on the forums part (plus, it seems like they are deleting accounts form users who were not active recently without giving them a chance to respond)
