Multiplayer threads are drowning out the discussion and it seems that nobody cares. There is a dedicated multiplayer forum yet nobody is being directed to use it. I've reported numerous threads and no action has taken place.
Are the moderators on vacation?
I'm taking bets on how soon this thread gets closed/moved because it breaks the rules but the multiplayer threads remain untouched. Right now the odds are 90/10 in favor of closure because someone will get their feelings bent over being called out for not doing their job properly.
In the off chance that someone actually wants to take ownership of this problem I will gladly retract my criticism.
Agree. I have commented the odd time as well. With a dedicated area already, I have no idea why people keep spamming the other areas. Some are the same person starting a new thread regularly.
I gave up reporting them after seeing no results. I don't think anyone is looking for omniscience here, but a daily visit from a moderator would be nice. Relying on the report function from your members is lazy moderation, no offense intended. Have you considered appointing a new moderator? If Other Platforms is such a huge undertaking then it sounds as if you need help. I'm sure you have a list of experienced and senior members that would be interested. I would also like to suggest a sticky (or whatever notification system you have in place) that directs people to the proper forum for multiplayer requests. That would go a long way towards solving this issue.

I will take more time to view the sections daily.
As for reporting threads and not seeing results, all thread that have been reported that were in the wrong sections have always been dealt with. No reports have been missed.
As for relying on reports, it is something we have to rely on to an extent. All moderators, and admins are volunteering their spare time to help out in these sections. Most work, have social lives, and go to school.
I have been looking for moderators, but I wont recruit someone to be a moderator simply because they ask. Senior members are also not always the best choice for the position either. A lot of members I have approached has turned down the offer to become a moderator. It is a thankless job, and it is very time consuming while being logged into the forum. More moderators would help regardless though.
A lot of members who create the multiplayer threads in the Discussion sections make one thread, and never log back into their account. They're going to go to the first section, create their post, and that's that. Sadly the same members that do not read section names still wont read a sticky at the top of a forum.

Perhaps I'm being a tad vain here but I do hope you weren't highlighting those words for my sake. For the record I have no interest in moderation aside from my sideline soccer parent critiques. I've moderated and administrated many forums in my past and I agree with you that it is largely a thankless job, although there are certainly perks to be had I'm sure. Whether or not those perks are worth the hassle is quite another story.

I suspect they were not addressed very promptly which might be the reason why I assumed they were being ignored. If I am wrong then I apologize.

I was not highlighting for your sake. I just wanted to make sure that was made clear for anyone. I wasn't directing it at you personally. I have received many PMs requesting to become moderator simply just for the name color or wanted it because they felt having power to "delete" threads they felt were wrong, not necessarily against the rules, was what we do. There's a lot to consider, and it's why right now the Other Platforms(OP) has such a small team.
OP is full of teens, parents, and I wont deny there are probably children there. A lot of these members don't quite grasp the understanding that any actions we, as moderators and admins, take has real consequences on real people. Moderators make mistakes, and members suffer due to this. Finding people responsible enough to not abuse these "powers" isn't easy. It's not something I will just give to anyone, despite needing more moderators for the OP team.
OP's moderators don't have a lot of time during the day due to work and school. I am able to take a look when I am not busy with my own work as well. All reports are looked at, it may take a few hours, but generally a report doesn't last any longer then a day. You don't need to apologize, we do not discuss reports openly with members. We can't expect you to know how something works if you don't know.

Totally agree. Was just thinking the same thing and then saw this thread. It's like the forum has been abandoned.
