There's a big issue I have with forums. If you don't get any posts in the first minute after posting, you never get posts. Is there a way to keep threads active that still follows the rules?
No, people have to post. They do not get posted on, I find threads of mine that are about a week old sometimes get posted on. Maybe your threads are simply uninteresting.
It's kind of hard to keep a thread afloat all by yourself. Either people post on it or they don't. :/

I'm on a bit of a hiatus from playing Minecraft, so I'm not so active in this forum, either. I still check it though, and participate in a few discussions.
I've found that if you post an engaging topic, for example asking about a broad topic, you tend to get more replies than if you post about a smaller topic. For example, your post here is relating to an extremely specific topic of proofreading, which may be used very rarely by the forum users. Posting a topic that promotes discussion will usually bring replies, while those that are considered uninteresting will quickly die out.
Or, you can be like some users and make a completely indecipherable post that requires me to reply with a translation.

And who are you, the proud lord said, that I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat, that's all the truth I know.
In a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws,
And mine are long and sharp, my lord, as long and sharp as yours.
And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall, and not a soul to hear.
