I just had a quick question, sorry if it's already answered/asked, I didn't feel as though this was a commonly asked question.
What are the rules on advertising a YouTube channel? I'm pretty sure you can guess that it's my channel I want to advertise.
I wanted to ask first instead of get punished for spam or "You shouldn't have put this thread here!"
So, where should I put a "Need a video made? Ask me! " thread?
Also, what are the guidelines for sending "Need a video made for your mod? Ask me! " PMs?
Thanks!!

With YouTube advertising, you can only link your channel in your signature, not your actual post.

As far as I'm aware, self advertisement is banned on the forum. That includes websites and youtube channels.
Could you link to where you read that information, please? As they allow the signature (which is self-advertisement) I'm not sure I can agree with you.

Could you link to where you read that information, please? As they have made a forum/sub-forum for advertising videos ("Hey, I made this video! Check it out! :D") I find this as well semi-hard to believe, though plausible.
I appreciate your reply and opinion. It was very truthful. The warning ("Although I apologize if I come across as blunt") was very kind of you.
I do realize I am put a tiny water drop, but still, I push through.
I'd like to explain why I message them before making the video (just trying to inform. )
There's the possibility that the mod creator wants to tell me something before I make the video. What they want to tell me is anybody's guess.
He/she/they could want to help me in the review (I know the slim chance, still, though...)
In my opinion, a review approved by the creator of the mod is always more... Er, shall we say, "worth" (that is not the right word at all, but it's the only one I can come up with right now. Also please ignore the grammar error there... xD ) than ones that don't make the approval.
There are more reasons, but I think those are the most pressing.

I'm not sure where I got the information. but I've been here long enough to know such rule has been enforced.
Signatures and the Video Recepticle thread and/or tutorials are allowed in the appropriate sections.
However, posting a topic such as "CHECK OUT MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL: "Link" as a topic of it's own is not allowed.

Ahh. I appreciate your answer.
Still, I would like an official answer from a moderater+ because, in my opinion at least, the ability to use signature-advertising but not thread-advertising seems kind of conflicting to me.
I do value your's, Rakanoth, and CreeperFuse226's replies, but, better safe than sorry.

Akame is correct. You can post your videos, but we do not allow threads that exist solely to advertise your youtube channel
Okay, thank you!
What about "Need a video?" PMs?

As long as you only send one PM to a person, you shouldn't run into any issues. Any more then that and the mod author is probably going to report you for spamming them

No, I won't message every mod author I come across.
