The story:
The Monolith is cursed by everyone who is still alive here.
I mean, it's the only source of those problems.
Everything started when It (the Monolith) appeared. Without any warning, a monstrous construction made of glowing thinge fell right onto earth in the middle of Siberia. Scientists quickly found it and without hesitation came there just to find out that the monolith is the source of anomal power. The researches were done but the reason couldn't be found.
They were too slow. The Monolith was releasing some strange kind of energy, causing the Earth to change dramatically. It became dangerous and foggy place. Lonely and dark, without signs of hope.
The people were afraid of fast and furious appocalypse. But they got calm and sleepy one.
They were afraid of zombies but turned into ghosts.
The bunkers aren't hope. The sun isn't happiness. But is this a prelude?
Some people still survive in some extremelly anomalous zones called Resorts that are located all over the world. Those zones are protected from Monolith influence and the people here are fighting for their lives, they rebuild the cities. Some of them have a gift of being able to walk in the dangerous zones without turning mad fast. Without becoming ghost. Most of them don't know about that gift, but those who know became Stalkers. Those people walk through the Zone, they guide the people between places. The Stalkers are one of the most respected people in the Resorts as they are the only one who can connect them...
There appeared some people amongst survivors that are skilled in utilising the power of Monolith in primitive ways. Those people are often called Mages as they do things that can be described only as magic. They could create spheres of pure quants (Lightspheres), they could create an object with extreme density (Black holes), they may turn mercury in gold, they can freese the water or burn trees down. Most powerful can transform themselves or curse their enemies to become were-animals.
And furuthermore, some people claimed that Monolith could grant wishes. Some people believed them and rushed towards the monolith, disappearing in thick fog. Some believed but stayed in Resorts, waiting for Stalker to help them...
...You are one of those who believed. You are one of those who are living in Resort "Urban 14" and a Stalker brought the news about the Monolith, inspiring you for the risk. Now it's up to you how would you reach it.
It's just getting started.

F.A.Q.
Q: Is this thing scripted?
A: Yes, it has got a main script and everything revolves around that. The endings would be different though, the plot would be flexible and it would be mostly player controlled!
Q: So, how much is it player controlled?
A: In most situations, it's nearly fully player controlled. The Moderators and GM would toss some plot twists in the game from time to time and GM would also take the role of Narrator for some time (for extremelly scripted ocassions)
Q: Is there any magic here?
A: Read the story. Clearly stated that there is something like magic here.
Q: Can I become as Stalker or Mage at start?
A: No, but you may be gifted. You don't know about that yet and really don't want to test on yourself.
Q: What is Monolith?
A: A giant construction made of shining material that is believed to cause the problems here
Q: Can I be Moderator?
A: No, you can't. I would choose myself.
Q: How would this work?
A: You post your actions and what does your character feels. That means no one-three liners, make your post big.
Q: Can I come with my own awesome race?
A: No. But you may be modified by a mage and tell about this in the Bio. Don't make something like GIANT TENTACLE MONSTER or creeper. And you can become your internal beast only if provoken
Q: How do people become Stalkers?
A: By accident. They often wander out of Resorts and return alive. Those guys see too much and realise that they are gifted only when they not so scaried.
Q: How do people become Mages?
A: Those people study to become one. They read the manuals (RTFM n00b >_<) and use it. The magic is still somewhat rare and I don't want every single player to be a mage.
Q: You mentoined ghosts...
A: Yes I did. The places outside the Resorts where people die often contain ghosts of them. Usually they are harmless but sometimes those ghosts can give problems. Avoid them.
Q: Electricity?
A: Yeah!
Q: Spaceships!
A: Heck no.
Q: Minecraft?
A: No. Nothing releated to it.
Q: Are there any usefull resources with awesome properties?
A: Yes, Stalkers bring Artefacts from the Zone. The Artefacts have some strange properites and are costy. They are mostly used by Stalkers and Mages.
Q: What kind of goverment is in the Resort?
A: The starting Resort has got Absolute Monarchy as main form of goverment and there were no kings that are abusing their powers. Yet.
Q: Any other threats?
A: Fog and panic are the most obvious. There are Extremelly Anomalous Zones (EAZ) that are avoided by Stalkers, night beasts (Vampires, Zombies and all this crap is possible), even some constructions in cities are dangerous.
Q: Location of the resort?
A: This is one of the closest ones to Monolith, located in Siberia.
Q: Any interesting locations around?
A: Yep, the maps are being added. The basic one, to give you basic feel of enviroment is located here. Circles mean the remarkable locations, ? means unknown places, ! means dangerous places, = inside circles shows the railway stations, checks in the circles mean Resorts and safe locations, grey lines show roads and railroads.
Q: i is noob can u giv me a chance?
A: Yes, I'll give you a chance. If your app is not awesome and isn't looking pro, I'll allow you to participate, with lots of restrictions, a special rule and high risk to be banned.
Q: Can I ask a question?
A: Yes you can. It would be even posted there and would have an answer. If it's worth it.

Other: Everything that isn't releated to your character or doesn't fit even in Facts section.
One liner: The name and short summary of chraracter like this: John Smith: The Parkour Biker
My character example: Name: Dr. Krat Folding Gender: Male Age: 28 Personality: Very ambitios and always gets obsessed with different ideas that he rarely manages to finish (which makes him very upset). He can controll his emotions and always seems to be calm even if he is very angry. He is prone to self-analysis when can't think of anything usefull and is easy to anger when is thiking about that. He likes high tech and dislikes magic, though he used help of local Mage to change himself. When talking with other people Kratt often drops some references hidden in his words. Appearance: Weak built and not very tall. Has got dark-green eyes that are slightly deeper located in skull. His lips are slightly thinner than average and his skin is pale. His hair are very messy and are coloured black (with slight red tilt). His hands are full of chemical burns.
He has got a Were-Animal form that is prowoked by high adrenaline levels in the blood. He turns into dark-red feline-like creature when it happens. Items: Jeans, Labcoat and Gazmask. Backpack with radiation levels meter and a butterfly knife. Biography: Krat wasn't great at school and the only lesson he knew well were Physics lessons. He graduated to university and was educated as Theoretical Physican. He got a Ph.D for Physics and soon found a job as scientifical assistant in one of respected laboratories. His pay was low though and he barely had enough money to buy himself something entertaining.
When the Monolith appeared Krat rushed to it in hope to get more money for the discovery. Luckily his airplane broke on the way to the Monolith and had to have an emergency landing in the airport located near the Resort. He had to stay there and when the Monolith's influence got very strong he became one of the people living in the Resort. He helped Stalkers in their expeditions and knew much about the Zone. Soon, he wrote a guide about it's dangerous zones (based on the stories of Stalkers) and was praised by the resorters for it.
When he was working on his research project (releated to magic) a stalker brought the rumor about the Monolith. Normally he won't trust it...
... But why won't he trust it if he has got nothing to loose? Skills: Theoretical Physics, Knowledge of Zone. Additional Facts: Fond of cats, hates horses. Can withstand low temperatures without getting cold or ill but hates high temperatures. Suggestions: -snip- Other: -snip- One Liner: Dr. Krat Folding: The Theoretical Stalker

Name: Ivar Odinsson. (About as siberian a name as I can come up with...) Gender: Male. Age: 32. Still young enough to fight bravely. Old enough not to charge into battle recklessly. Personality: Ivar has always been quiet, but since an incident in the Zone he does not speak much of, he has grown tenfold more so. He is cautious in the extreme, and doubtful of any news that seems good. If anyone looks round a doorway before they step through, it is him. He makes few friends, and some have assumed that he does so deliberately. When he talks-A rare occasion at any time- He is realistic, only stating the facts he truly knows, not assuming anything. Appearance: Ivar is tall, and of a strong build, probably because of his Russian Viking ancestry. He is always clad in warm clothes, not surprisingly due to him living his life close to the Arctic Circle. His eyes are dull brown and staring, and his skin is slightly pale, as if he has underwent some great shock and never fully recovered. He lost his left index finger to frostbite once; he is usually identified by this. Items: Warm clothing-Very warm indeed-, a small, six-bullet revolver just in case some enemy he made in his eventful past came back for him, a large suvival knife, and the strange Artifact he brought back from the mists of the Zone. An amulet of some aged-bronze like metal shaped like a simple fang- Or teardrop, or half of a Taijitu(yinyang) sign, depending on how you look at it. He is never without it, and seems to become... Weaker... is it is taken from him. Biography: Ivar was once a navigater for a smuggling ship in the Arctic Circle; a ship that bought and sold arms, delivering them to various criminal groups in North Russia. That is, for a while. After years of smuggling, Ivars consience got the better of him. He betrayed the crew to the law, helped bring them in. As the informant, he naturally escaped trial. For years after that, he lived close to the frozen, shipwrecked coast that was his life. Until the Monolith landed.
Ivar was one of the first to investigate the mists. But when he came out, he was-Changed. Not the same. He didn't talk for days after emerging from those swirling mists, clutching his Artifact, without memory of what had happened to him. He barely knew what he was, after. Was he a Stalker, who could survive in the mists, or a Mage, who discovered his talent at the Monolith and managed to escape? Or was he slowly turning into a Ghost? What he seeks now, what he wants more than anything else, is answers. That is what he wants to wish for. Skills: Ivar knows the minds of the criminals he was once part of. He knows the mind of most of the people left over since the Monolith came, come to think of it. He is an excellent tracker because of this; because he knows how people will react to their situation. In a way, he is almost a psychologist. Additional Facts: Erm, none. Suggestions: Portal weapons, dinosaurs and rainbow ponies. Definitely. On a more serious note, though; is it OK if Ivar was kind of 'contaminated' by the ghost energy thing? Like, not a stalker, nor a mage, just that a part of him is ghost? Other: Is this RP by any chance loosely based on S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-Shadow of Chernobyl? One Liner: Ivar Odinsson. Of mysterious past.
Ivar is nearly accepted. His partly ghostly thing could be counted as an insanity and if that won't give him supernatural powers, I am fine with this. Your one-liner is bad though.
About the Stalker...
Well, yes there is something based on it. Actually this RP evolved slowly from the basic Stalker RP to this. The Zone, Monolith and Stalkers for example. Didn't expect anyone to remark this though.
About postfix/suffix thinge: Thanks, I'll fix that. My bad.
Anyway, yeah, I mean the ghost thing to be a sort of mental-problem, insanity thing, though it would be cool if it did have an advantage, eg. he can sense ghosts if they're close enough.
Personality: Svetlana is wild. Literally. She reacts like a scared or angry animal would to people, hunkering down, snarling, threatening and cautious at the same time. She barely talks at all, having lost all reason to do so long ago. If one gains her trust she will talk, but doing so is difficult. She is an animal of the mists, and travellers should be wary.
Appearance: Svetlana had ragged brown hair that hangs down to her hips. Her skin is tanned by the long exposure to tainted sunlight and covered in scars and cuts, along with a layer of dirt, dust or snow, depending on the season. Her hands are calloused and her muscles are wiry. She is malnourished, and her ribs are visible through her skin, but she has poor stamina for extended treks across land. She travels upright, but fights like an animal, on all four of her limbs.
Items: Svetlana is clothed in scraps of an old skirt. She wears nothing over her torso, preferring to utilise earth and grasses for brief periods of warmth or protection when it's needed. She carries nothing else with her save for an anklet she rescued from the ruins of a ravaged farmhouse.
Biography: Now-days Svetlana is known as a phantom of the wastes. Not quite a ghost that the Stalkers tell tales of but not quite human either. But she wasn't always like that. She once was a child with parents and a brother. But when the Monolith fell to the earth, her father went to investigate. He didn't return. Her brother followed after. He was also lost to the mists.
Svetlana and her mother were on their own in s small house on the edge of a larger farm. They were penniless, and had no way of fending for themselves should something influenced by the Monolith's presence come across their farmstead. Her mother insisted on waiting for the men. She kept waiting and forcing Svetlana to stay with her. They waited for too long. The mists ate up the farmstead and Svetlana's mother fell into madness.
Svetlana could only watch as her mother tore out her heart and offered it to something only she could see. Svetlana then left the farm. She ran out into the dark of the night and never looked back. She forced herself to forget, to embrace only the world she saw then and there. She sacrificed her humanity for peace of mind.
Skills: Svetlana has well honed survival instincts from her years traversing the wastes. Her fighting style puts others off, as they are unable to handle he speed and ferocity. The closest thing to it, would be fighting a tiger, or some other predator. Additional Facts: She forgot her last name a long time ago. Suggestions: Other: One Liner: Svetlana; the wild human

((Intro coming in!))
Ivar sat down on a small, snowy hill, looking out upon the residents of Urban 14. A very motley bunch. Stalkers, walking around like wolves tensed to spring, refugees trapped by the coming of the Monolith, researchers, lookouts- He could've sworn there was even a Mage skulking around. But whoever they were, wherever they came from, he knew, from observation alone. He could read them all. In a way, that was what worried him. Absentmindedly he fingered his Artifact.
He had always been good at deciphering who someone was by how they looked and acted. Now, he felt... More so. Different. Like he knew something about these people, about everyone, but he didn't know what. Like something about his humanity had... shifted. Ever since coming back from the Zone, he had felt so, and it unnerved him. He wanted answers, but there was no-one to give them. Except... No. The Monolith couldn't possibly grant wishes, as the rumors claimed.
Warped clouds and heavy mists hung lank like her hair. Blackened snow clothed her like the ground beneath her numb feet. Feral eyes darted back and forth, almost golden from malnutrition, they would fit a cat, or a snake. Her lips pulled back in a snarl, bearing teeth missing and teeth rotten from years of no thought or care for them. Hooked fingers, tapered nail-claws sliced the air, earning uneasy laughter from the man with the rope. She hated that rope.
Svetlana hated that man. She hated him with everything she could bring forth to bear. She hated his scraggly beard and pig-small eyes. She hated his peaked cap and long boots. She hated his hands that held the hate-rope that dragged her along in the slush of snow and dirt. She hated how he laughed at his friends and told them words that she didn't care for. She hated how she was here, near the men and the people-place.
She didn't want to be in the people-place. She wanted to be back in the dirt, in the mists. The mists were safer than the people-place. The mists were dangerous. But the people-place had cold irons and drink that dulled the mind and loosed trousers. It had dark rooms and cold floors. It had a man with-no-beard-and-glasses come to her do dark things in the dark. Cold things. Dark and cold and people.
Svetlana hated people.

Krat was searching for that book for months. And he got it, finally. The only barrier between him and this book was old granny who unfortunatelly was also a librarian.
He didn't had anything aggainst her. She was a nice lady but her ear problems always make Krat rage.
"Rad 'oldin?" said the Librarian looking at the man standing in front of her.
"No, no, I am Krat Folding" said the man, with annoyed voice "I am K-R-A-T, not rat."
"Ah, Krat... Hello, you've came for the book?"
Krat nodded. It's better not to say anything to her, or the conversation would become even longer.
The granny gave him the book. Krat had a quick look over the library and quickly moved away, to the streets. He hid the book in his backpack and moved to the "talkplace". The stalker, calling himself the "Preacher" was doing his speech there, again. That stalker told audence about Monolith, it's awesomness and all that stuff. Krat sat in the free bench and looked over the Resort.
That resort was like any simple resort, as far as he knew. That place used to be the outher part of long way dead city, but now it's the only safe part of it. The rest of city decayed and turned to forests. To the west, however, the City was continued. But noone wanted to enter it, those rumors about the ghostly horses were already too scary. The resort had a good library with lots of books (thanks to Bookworm the stalker it is now overflowing with books), lots of useless 10 levelled buildings, some tech buildings, a small church and a Fortress, reinforced 12 floor building that is used in emergency situations. It also serves as some kind of goverment house, giving people feel of safety now. Of course that building won't save the people form Mists, but that feels calmer.
Krat got out of the bench. He was bored of Preacher's speeches, and left to see Bookworm the stalker. He was hoping to start their expedition to Marketplace soon, but the searches for book were too long. At last he found it in the library and promised to give it to Bookworm as the pay. Unfortunatelly, everything had to go wrong.
He was going to visit Bookworm at his home and met his wife. She was crying, crying for hours. After the really unpleasant conversation, Krat found out that Bookworm didn't return from his last visit to the Church. That broke all the plans. Krat must find someone to help him.
New people have arrived, maybe they could help him?
Krat was walking along the street as he saw a strange guy crying something about library. That guy got out in street and was looked at by some guys at talkingplace. That was stupid move of his.
Krat didn't see this guy before, so he might came out of Zone. That means, he is either a stalker or gifted. And that means, he can use his "help".
He went up to the guy and said "Excuse me, are you new here?"
Ivar watched carefully at the man who emerged from the library. He hadn't seen him around before, that was certain. He certainly wasn't native to Siberia. Lab coat. Book. That meant researcher. Probably came to investgate the Monolith and got trapped here by the Mists. Appeared to be looking for something. And... Something else. Something otherworldly, something he saw around everyone-Don't think like that. You're not going to go mad anytime soon.
With a few long strides, Ivar reached the researcher. It paid to know what was going on around you, even if you didn't take part much. Without saying anything, he stood, quiet, listening to the conversation the man had started with... A newcomer. He had said his name was Wheeler, something Wheeler. Definitely new. Probably Gifted, if he had just come in from the mists. Worried, or perhaps scared, or at least he appeared to have been. That meant an encounter with the Ghosts. There was something Ivar could sense about him, too, but the tracker ignored that.

My character example:
Name: Dr. Krat Folding
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Personality: Very ambitios and always gets obsessed with different ideas that he rarely manages to finish (which makes him very upset).

Name: Ivar Odinsson. (About as siberian a name as I can come up with...)
Gender: Male.
Don't have time to write out an application yet, I'll have it up by tomorrow.
My bad.
About Neo_Jackson's character: Waiting for him.
How 'bout this?
Ivar Odinsson, half-mad tracker.
Anyway, yeah, I mean the ghost thing to be a sort of mental-problem, insanity thing, though it would be cool if it did have an advantage, eg. he can sense ghosts if they're close enough.
And the ghost thing may give you bonuses if you won't use it too much. And in future of course.
...So, am I accepted?
Gender: Female
Age: 19

Gaulish Viking metal is actually, an aphrodisiac
That's getting strange, two people are influenced by the Zone and one of them is literally gone wild inside. Anyway, that's going to be interesting...
I hope there won't be much of those characters though.
((Edit: Also, I've updated F.A.Q. with map that can be found here. The legend for it is located in F.A.Q.))
You are accepted, but RP didn't start, I have some trouble with time of posting. Sorry. You can still make some kind of intro for yourselves, or do some Passive roleplaying. My intro (comes with RP intro!) is going to be in next hours. Keep tuned.

Except... No. The Monolith couldn't possibly grant wishes, as the rumors claimed.
...Could it?

((BTW, Ivan wasn't accepted. Extremelly bad app. Tiny as hell))
Krat didn't see this guy before, so he might came out of Zone. That means, he is either a stalker or gifted. And that means, he can use his "help".
He went up to the guy and said "Excuse me, are you new here?"
