I've heard from a few people that a map reset is required for Jungle biomes to appear but haven't found anything on any major minecraft sites that suggests that.
I was curious if a map reset is required or if the biome will still appear but in the unexplored part of the world. If a reset is required could you link me to the page that says that?
I've read some things about the new save system which imply that changes to the biome code might not alter existing terrain's biome type. Don't get your hopes up, though. Either way, there's no doubt in my mind that there will be chunk walls.

hmm, your post says "Posted 15 February 2012 - 03:50 PM"
I would start by checking the News section at: http://www.minecraftforum.net/
And looking at the article which says "15 February 2012 - 09:55 AM Posted By Sacheverell"
What "was" and "is" can be two different things. Jungle can generate on earlier maps with current snapshot. This is after traveling farther out on a 1.1 map. The ocelots are natural (including kitten in center).
Hope that's a legit thing. I don't care if it makes my map look ugly, it would be nice to not have to start over again, as I am trying to keep the same world (and no access to MCedit on this computer)
