I know this is random, but I'm getting tired of seeing (especially on the main 1.9 FAQs and such board) that it says something about how after 1.9 we may see 1.10 or 1.11 ... that makes no sense. Just because you add a zero does not make it higher than the previous number, 1.10 = 1.1. After 1.9 comes 2.0 not 1.10 or 1.11 ... yay for my random rant, but PLEASE get it right people.

Like everyones wrong about the Sun rising in the North, because that can't be right because in the real world it rises in the east? You, my friend, are SOOO wrong on so many levels it's actually kinda funny to read. No pun intended.
Yes, in the decimal system, 2.0 comes after 1.9. But this isn't the decimal system, heck it's not even math at all. This is Programming Jargon. Stop nagging about something you obviously know nothing about.
Don't be a victim of Dunning-Kruger, please. Instead, just ask yourself this: Why else would Minecraft 1.0.11 exist?!!
Oh and the latest version of Diablo 2 is now 1.14. Again, YOU ARE WRONG, my friend.
Thanks for the link, but it still doesn't make any sense -.-
Actually, it makes perfect sense:
x.y.z
x = Product edition/paradigm.
y = Major upgrade/update of current edition.
z = Minor updates/improvements of the current major update package.
E.g. version 3.15.24 would mean that they've made 24 minor updates to the 15th major version of the 3rd edition of a program.
All of the above depends entirely on the software, as well.
Battle.net is an example of a program that hasn't become a sequel, but rather a "new edition". Battle.net is currently "Battlenet 2.0" (not sure what the extended version is, though).
