[p]Sorry if this isn't the place for this question but I'm curious as to if my computer can run minecraft. I have a late 2013 Macbook Pro 1. My processor is an [/p]
2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 with 6 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 of memory and my Graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB. Thanks in advanced for any help you guys can give me.[/p]
But with an i7, 6GB of RAM it seems like you'll have no problem running it. the GT 750M I'm not familiar with but it should be fine due to being in the 700 series.
Yours is more powerful than my PC and it runs the game fairly well even with mods which requirements more to get them running well.

Thanks for the response and help. I've gone ahead and started up the game but my energy consumption for the the game is around 70-90 with the lowest settings possible on. Any idea what an average energy rating for a game should be on a mac?

it's going to be high since it's a 3D game. the best way to reduce the power consumption is to lower the framerate and the render distance.
Here are the minimum requirements for Minecraft that I found on Mac Gamer HQ:
OS: 10.9 Mavericks.
Processor: Intel Core i3.
Video Card: Intel HD Graphics 4000 or higher.
Memory: 4GB RAM.
Hard Drive: 1 GB of Hard Drive space, though this can increase drastically depending on the worlds you install.
Hope this helps.
