I have not updated my main survival world for a while (Version 1.12.2) but as I'm feeling a little left behind Are there any problems I need to be aware of?
Updating the buildings /automatic builds and farms etc etc is part of the process which I'm looking forward to but I'm a little worried there could be something world ending, Possibly game changing that might break something So I thought I would ask here first.
Is there anything I should be aware of or look out for? I do have backups just in case anything goes wrong...
And be aware that there is almost certainly no going back except by loading a backup that has never been used on the later version.
If you want to keep playing both versions you should make separate game directories for each version so you don't accidently open a world in the wrong version.
One thing to remember: Iron farms in 1.12.2 will no longer work in 1.15.2 (they changed in 1.14). I haven't had any problems with any of my other automatic farms.
ETA: Squid spawning was also changed. if you had an old squid farm in the middle of the desert it will no longer work as squid now only spawn in river and ocean biomes.

Damn, Yes my iron farm is no more But I can fix that easily enough and I also never finished a squid farm so thankfully I don't have that to live with I never really found a need to farm them but it's on my list of things to do.
The only downside now is I have explored soo soo much near to spawn that I have to travel a very very long way to see the new stuff I may refresh some chunks though as I don't have a great deal built that would be affected, I'm just working on indexing everything so I can delete and update some chunks closer to home without losing any builds, caving and farms etc.
We'll see, Nothing is ever set in stone but all in all I think it's been a success, Nothing obvious is borked or broken so it's a win win from me.

Just make a backup and see for yourself really...

Just testing.
Cheers That's what I thought (Backup) and just go for it.
I really just wanted to throw the question out there for some reassurance I suppose Thanks for the help and wish me luck I'm going in!
