When I build a structure or village, I tend to try to make it fit in with the biome and have a cohesive style. I'm currently working on a 'wild west' themed town in a mesa biome, a pueblo village in the desert & an atlantis style city on an island in the ocean.
I also have plans to build an igloo village in a tundra, primitive-hut village in a savana, a log cabin village in a the taiga, venice themed village in a swamp etc.
Does anyone else look for real world inspiration when they pick a building style for different biomes? I find that it helps inspire me to build & especially to expand villages in survival when I can make each of them a bit unique.
Yes, I tend to build things to fit the biome, like plantation houses in a swamp, austere towers in snow, Middle Eastern in deserts, or colonial in savanna, to name a few. In my case it's because I usually build where inspiration strikes, and the landscape is almost always part of the motivation.

Geographicraft (formerly Climate Control) - Control climate, ocean, and land sizes; stop chunk walls; put modded biomes into Default worlds, and more!
RTG plus - All the beautiful terrain of RTG, plus varied and beautiful trees and forests.
I'm more fluid in my design choices, so I usually end up building something that's more fantastical than practical. I try to stay away from going underground, as it gets pretty boring for me no matter how good I can make it look.
