I'm setting up a mine that has an entrance from ground level to one above bedrock using a staircase. If I wanted to be able to just jump down from about sea level (65) down to about 6, how many blocks tall would the pool of water on the bottom have to be? I really hate testing this since I always have exp
I believe for a pool of water it has to be one deep for each 16 blocks of altitude. You could also try and build a water brake system.
