nothing was delayed, notch said the adventure update was far from ready so he's at least gonna give us the pistons. I don't call that a delay. It just no longer "1.7" but 1.8.
A delay would mean more that they had a problem or had a set release date and they couldn't do it in time.
The adventure update is delayed till 1.8 olny pistons and bug fixes will be in 1.7 =( look at notches blog :dry.gif:
The ironic thing is that the "Adventure Update" is NOT being delayed. It is coming out just as soon as it was before, which is not for a while. Yes, it will be called 1.8 instead of 1.7 but it's coming out at the same time it always would have. This is so that we can get the Pistons now since they are finished instead of having to wait a long time to get them at the same time as the "Adventure Update", and thankfully so!
I just wanted to clarify this before a pile of people start screaming about the "Adventure Update" being delayed & yada yada...
Also; you can read more details about it, with tweets etc as well as a poll, in the following thread I posted about 8 hours ago. Please vote. :smile.gif:
A shame but pistons should tide me over until the Adventure update. Probably for the best as notch and co. can focus on making it awesomer. :biggrin.gif:
It's impossible for the Adventure update to be delayed because it doesn't have a set release date yet. Though it is taking longer than Notch originally hoped. But it wouldn't be correct to call that a delay.

I mean really. These patches rollout every month or so with like 2-3 new items, few bug fixes, and a hundred new bugs. I just want to know how hard is it to create 10 new items in the course of 30 days?
I can undstand if the item has some function behind it, but someone explain to me why its so difficult to create aesthetic items? few sets of furniture here and there (so my castle isnt f***ing empty), a few cooking recipes (ie sandwich), etc.
if my java was any better i would go about it myself, unfortunately i'm c/c++ programmer.
So to be frank, this "adventure" update is likely gonna contain a single new mob, some useless redstone item that only people interested in making super massive time wasting structures will enjoy, and maybe if we're lucky a new crafting recipe.
I dont like comparing games with one another but look at that game terreria's update history, it has like over 100+ new items and mobs in less than a month.
i ment whats your opion on it
"Your opinions on adventure update being delayed until 1.8"
instead of
"Adventure Update delayed till 1.8"
lol, you cant assume people can read your mind.
