I would be very surprised if this hasn't been posted before, but a google search yielded no results.
Also, I think this may be the wrong forum, but it looked the most relevant to what I am about to ask.
How do you edit textures in Mac?
I have been using the painterly texture pack for a while, but recently switched back to the default.
I REALLY dislike the cobblestone texture (including stairs) and the glass texture but I love the rest of the default textures, and I want to replace those ( ) default textures with ones from the Painterly pack.
So how would I go about doing this?
Additional information:
Running Mac OSX 10.5.8

Have you heard about the new Mac OS?
Its called "Mac OSX Domestic House Cat".
Ok, I think I worked it out, the major thing I had an issue with was opening the minecraft.jar file, I ended up copying the minecraft.jar file (as not to stuff it up), and changing the extension to .zip, and uncompressing it.
After learning how to use gimp though trial and error (I have had it for a while, just never used it before), I managed to change the textures I disliked into ones I did like. I had a look at some of the other texture packs, and how the folders were laid out and copied what they did. The only issue I have is that I have to load the textures by putting them in the same file the minecraft application is, it doesn't seem to want to work if I do it though the Texture Pack folder, I tried compressing it as well. I had the same issue with the painterly pack so I'm guessing its not just me with that problem.

I think I worked it out, but thanks for the considerate offer. :smile.gif:
