Hey all, started a large-scale build a few days ago, and am looking for suggestions on design, scenery, etc. It's very early in development, so I don't have any screenshots as of yet, but I will update this thread with some screenshots. Being so early in development, the idea is very malleable, so nothing is far-fetched or unwelcomed. A small story will be hidden inside the map, so yes, suggestions on things you'd like to see are appreiated!

Maybe it gives you some ideas.
I personally would like a map that has a large wasteland area with small places where you can still find supplies or other resources.
I love the general concept of "Letters from a dead earth", but since there is so much stuff left in the houses it kind of gets unvaluable. °
Well, it would be cool, if you used command blocks to simulate areas with strong radiation and/or poisoned water (maybe via potion effects).
Then of course you should build things that can be found in a city: Shops for particular things and supermarkets too. An univsersity campus, cinemas, libraries, company buildings...
Maybe make it eternal night and snowing (command block and have all the trees an greenery be dead.
But there is a place somewhere, where for some reason some plants survived. And of course it's possible to find seeds in some shops.
Animals would be rare too then.
An underwater bunker would be cool.
And a survivors' community somewhere.
Make an underground society of survivors with narrow tunnels and lots of cramped rooms. Also add lots of small bunkers with chests and stuff inside. The main buildings depend on what type of apocalypse it is. (Zombie, meteors, riots, disease)
Wow, all great ideas! Have to admit, I didn't expect this many :P. I'll definitly think over each one, seeing how it'll fit in with my desigm. All of you get a sign for the ending credits room :D. Also, robert, you should be a writer :).
A Vault would be ideal for this seeing as the Fallout Series is built around the very nature of which you want your world to be like also it would be great if you made the vault door automatic meaning you click said button and vault door opens.. I know how to create this should you go that route .. Also build some builds half built make them seem as if parts had been destroyed place behind it maybe bars or something to give it that decay appeal of reinforce bars beneath the foundation and another idea wouldbemake some buildings workable meaning some lights turn on and some dont
Has anyone seen imagine dragons music videos? They are sort of like what I am imagining when you said the post apocalyptic winter world. I think it should be lightly falling snow or "ash". The world could have been at war with aliens or something like that. Anyways, I think this is a really good map. I hope this helps!
