Ok so this is how a real life portal gun would be created.1.When you shoot out one portal and enter it,your atoms would have to be broken up and reasembled at the other portal.Your atoms would be attracted by the red portal like filiments to a magnet and if all goes well you would be perfectly normal.Of course they would have to check this on apes first
That's not how the portal gun is supposed to work, and it wouldn't allow you to see through the portal, as well as being unable to properly conserve momentum. The best way would have to be a wormhole, where your would literally stretch the fabric of space until it intersects at the portals.
The way that I think that this would be possible would be for the gun to fire sets of particles that if correctly land upon an acceptable surface would have such a powerful pull on each other as to pull the fabric of space to each other in a way to create the aforementioned portals.
PS Your way also has another issue that is inherent with the deconstruct and reconstruct version of teleportation. When you are deconstructed, your stream of consciousness will end. The reconstructed you will have the same memories as your and believe that he is you, and in theory not be vegetative, but will be an entirely new stream of consciousness, that has the previous memories, experiences, and abilities of the old, ended stream of consciousness. I admit that this concept is difficult to explain, (and impossible to prove as the copy will always insist that he is the original) but the copy is just that: a perfect copy. Not the original.

I know there are gaps in my theory I dont know F@#$ing Quantum physics jesus
In MY opinion, it just rips a hole in the fourth dimension, to and from, and when you enter the first one, you exit the second.

If Facebook, Twitter and MySpace were all distroyed, 90% of teenagers would die. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing, copy this to your signature and hope it happens.
Well, my idea for a portal is basically walking through walls. The gun squirts some chemical to open a wormhole. You would keep shooting through the first portal until you connect the wormholes to get to the other side of the wall.
A portal gun is pretty easily possible, the issue is it would require too much energy to be plausible.
I believe someone did the math, it would take 117,000,000,000 suns worth of energy to use the portal gun once. In universal terms that's really not that much at all, but considering we're here on earth in the year 2011 it's not happening any time soon.
Maybe in 100 years but no sooner.
An issue though is the edges of the portal are the sharpest objects in the universe, one wrong move and you lose a limb. They are supposed to be so sharp it's not theoretically possible.

If you can't strive for perfection, what can you strive for?

So easy and simple!
You'll be rich and famous, why has nobody thought of that before?~
FALSE.
You have no idea what you're talking about.
So basically you're saying there's no need for portals.

LOL I laughed so hard when I saw this.

It was a topic of discussion on /b/, /v/ and reddit numerous times.
Ah, good ol' /b/. Can't say I'm surprised, pretty much anything goes on there.
Yeah. There was an image complete with the mathematical formulas but I didn't bother to save it.
This was when portal 1 came out so I don't think it would be terribly difficult to find.
