I just recently updated to Windows 10. It's pretty cool, but it could be better. In my opinion, the interface isn't as neat as Windows 8 and 8.1.
Windows 8.1 interface.
Windows 10 interface.
That might just be my opinion, but it does seem a bit cluttered.
Performance is hard to measure. I'm having trouble noticing a difference between 8.1 and 10, and this chart shows it. (Source PCworld.com)
Note: this test was performed on identical laptops and may not be universal.
In a statement from Microsoft, it was revealed that Windows 10 will be the last Windows OS, but will be updated regularly. I doubt this will hold true, but only the future can tell. Keep in mind that Windows 10 is still an infant Operating System. It's full of bugs, glitches, and oddities. As an everyday OS I wouldn't recommend it, but it's still neat. I recommend waiting a month or so, but it's your decision.
After running it since the earliest previews, I'm not updating any of my main systems from 8.1 to Windows 10. I think I may have to turn in my Microsoft MVP badge and gun.
A lot of stuff is outright broken, worse, or requires more work than 8.1 (which I'm using now). VPN connecting is less fluent, customization of the interface is pretty much gone (you need an aftermarket tool to not get white title bars), Window borders are mostly invisible, with only 1 pixel visible and the actual window extending about 5 pixels outside the actual visible area of the window, which is awful design and you need to actually grab an area outside the visible border to resize, this is so that standard desktop applications will look similar to Modern UI programs. You know, the programs that nobody in their right mind uses on purpose and Microsoft should stop promoting. The Development tools for Modern UI applications seem to be architected in a purposely complicated and obtuse way, and appears to be modelled after website design, which is about a decade behind Desktop application design methodology. At least websites get the excuse of being able to (if created properly) run on multiple platform. Modern UI applications will only run on specific Windows versions, and you discard about 90% of the capabilities of Windows for the privilege of only running on 10% of modern computers... but that isn't really win10 related, I suppose.
My tablet updated to windows 10. I wanted to try the new Minecraft Windows 10 Beta, but it only works on 64 bit systems. My tablet's cpu 64 bit, but my uefi is 32 bit. I guess I should have waited till the new Atom's come out. Other than that, it looks nice and stuff. Going to have to get use to were the search is now located.

Um. Formatting issues...

It's not bad- just heavily overhyped.
It's been well worth it for me coming from Windows 7, having skipped 8/8.1 completely.
If I had Windows 8.1, I'm not sure if I would have upgraded.
For some reason the image formatting got screwed up in this post...
I thought something was iffy about that
I'll alert someone to see what happened.
"Last Windows OS" means when they eventually have to make another one, they'll call it something different.
Actually, they're planning to just continually update W10 under different version names. Windows 10 0.1 | 0.2 etc
