Hello dear minecrafters!
My name is DragonNoir1 and if you're looking to do some amazing costum superflat world in minecraft without modding anything or use a map editor, creates your own quick maps to use your creativity or just to make yourself good challenges, here's the way to do it simple (may not seem so, but after 15 minutes you'll be a pro)
This as been made at version 1.4.7, so it may be outdated in some way if long time passed since posted. In this note I'll refer the generetor line as "equation" or "formula", wich is in fact the generator key of your world, just like the seed generator line. (Note that seed generator is for classic map and superflat preset generator line is for superflat map, they don't give the same result as you create a map in each other. So if you want to give your generator key to someone be sure he know wich one you gave him, classic or superflat)
As a final it should give you something like this (note that it is the complete formula, with no parameters in value, (x) as the value you want to settle and words reffering to the appropriate parameter selection and x representing "time" or * like in mathematic)
If the formula you tried doesn't work and still give you the "default superflat", don't panic, you simply mispelled one or more parameters. Try writting your formula somewhere to prevent that kind of error wich could need you to start over again.
You can choose and settle any one of them in the order you want, but you must make sure you have them in that precise order in the end. The first parameter is a parameter I couldn't find lot of information about, but I know its important, else your world will come as "Default superflat" or may be crash, never tried myself. It's always 2 so you always start with 2; (; mean you move to the next parameter type, it's important)
The bottom layer of item ID always came first, it is in fact your "bedrock". It can be whatever can suit a block role (Torch and other similar items can't be in that layer, but can be wherever over it, since it only need to be above a block type layer), that bottom layer can be bedrock or whatever you want, diamond, obsidian, dirt, etc.
They NEED to be separated like this (parameter;) , because the semicolon ( tell the generator your settling the next parameter. They go as this : version;layers;biome;parameters
Then you probably want to add some more layers, because a one layer block world could be a little boring or very hard, and may not suit the idea of your "perfect world". Once you placed your first layer, add (,) to the layer parameter. The dot (,) mean you add an additionnal parameter to the same parameter type. In ex. you're settling the layers so you bring up with (2;7) and want to add additionnal layers without going into the biome parameters right away, in this case you add (,) before putting your next layer parameter so it give (2;7,(additionnal layer))
In ex. (First, settle map type, by deafault it is always 2) 2;(next is block layer, here is two layer of bedrock(ID-7) with 4 dirt(ID-3) block on them and a grass(ID-2) on top)2x7,4x3,1x2;(next is biome number,in this case plains-1)1;(and finally the parameters you want to spawn in your world)dungeon, village
Since there's only one grass layer no need to specify the number of time you want it, default is 1 if you only write the item ID. It will give us that equation : 2;2x7,4x3,2;1;dungeon,village
That world will have two layers of bedrock, recovered by four layer of dirt and a final layer of grass, it will be generated in a plain biome and will also spawn NPC villages and common dungeons, just like a normal map would, except only the parameters you put in your world will be created. So if you want to add new parameters, (in ex. wood and ore) you can re-use your generator key and simply add, set or remove features you want to change (same ex. village,dungeon-village,dungeon,decoration). Note it also re-create your world, so use it with caution, as it will not import the already-done work in it, except if you use a map editor.
That make it for the base, then for the pro setting refer to the proper section below, as you'll have better view of what they do and what you can do with them
Take care that there must be NO SPACE between parameters, the dot (,) and semicolon ( are there for that, as well as that tricky one here (_), but there is also different version of block ID like for sandston, wich have additionnal effect as you add (:x), like chiseled sandstone ID 24:1 , in those case precise the ID:x chosen effect, it will update automaticelly to the chosen layer when created
Only exception for that NO SPACE rule is for the world parameters personalisation, you must enter them as shown in the proper section. Note that every (x) value is a random number, you can put any value that suit you, unless you put any number in your mind, in wich case your most likely to do anything than something, but it don't mean you can't bring on something worth it, after all, each person is method
By comodity I put the Items ID at the bottom of the note because they need alot of scroll, while other parameters can be viewed quickly, and are more commonly to be choosed BEFORE all the layers of the world.
2; - Mean your world will be Superflat and is necessary for some kind of game version reason
- Biome number -
Will give your world a specific biome type, wich can affect luminosity, mob spawning, biome meteorology, snow and rain falling, and can as well influence the further parameters, like ore spawning, tree spawning, village spawining, etc
Those are the parameters wich you will be able to add to your world, including parameters options, wich you must enter as shown, only changing (x) for the value of your choice. They are provided with detail about what they actually do and where they can be settled (Note that adding parameter despite the fact it doesn't fill the requirement will simply not work and never appear in the created world)
The parameters with additionnal settings can be modified to suits your like, but those with N/A cannot be setted and will come as default and don't need modification before setting the next parameter. If you only write a parameter without adding specific setting to it, it will also come as default.
Now the NO SPACE exception. You maybe noticed I lette a space in the additionnal parameters between (). It is the only time you won't use (,),( or ( , but it must only be if you settle multiple additionnal settings for a same setting. In ex. village(distance
village(size=x distance=x) - The default Size is 1. Distance is always the distance between generated effects, the higher the number the more far they'll be from each other, default here is 32. Only spawn in Plain and Desert
stronghold(distance=x count=x spread=x) - Distance determines how far strongholds are from the spawn and other strongholds (minimum is 1.0, default is 32.0). Count is the number of strongholds that exist per world (default is 3). Spread determines how concentrated strongholds are around the spawn (minimum is 1, default is 3, lower number, lower concentration). It only works in Desert Hills, Forest Hills, Extreme Hills Edge, Swampland, Taiga, Ice Plains, Ice Mountains and Jungle Hills.
dungeon(N/A) - Dungeons, everyone know what it is
mineshaft(chance=x) - From 0.0 to 1.0, it is the chance for mineshaft to spawn, default set is 0.1
lake(N/A) - Create lakes, sometimes with sugar canes and with biome corresponding blocks
lava_lake(N/A) - Same as lake, except this is lava with no sugar cane
decoration(N/A) - Gives ores, ressources, plants and other things depending to the added map features and biome
biome_1(distance=x) - Biome specefic natural features, like buildings, distance can be set at minimum 9 and come as default 32. Works only in Desert (Hills), Jungle (Hills), Swampland
Items ID (Warning, this is a complete list of EVERY known and updatable items as I writte this, they're not all supported in superflat presetting and should be used with knowledge that bad generation can make your game crash for some reason, like layers being in conflict with each other (In ex. lava and water layers) or with themselves (In ex. chests)

Thats it, you should now be pro! I hope that helped you becoming pro with superflat and bringged you some great idea. I made this upon my spare time so you wouldn't have to do all the search I had to make to find all that information It is also easier to settle new world with this note, as you can chek any parameters and even use the end of the list to write your "new world" formula, so it'll never be lost
Additionnally, here's my first pro map as it give a good multiplayer map for huge medieval RPG type server. It is difficult and contain almost everything except wood, it instead give wooden planks via mineshafts, so every ressource is limited and are hard to get, as mobs spawn near them. It have a layer of siverfish before letting a ressource layer being discovered, so the rarer the ressource, the harder it is to get. Dirt is hard to get so its impossible to over-farm, making dirt precious. It have 50 layers and come in with 5 strongholds so if you make PVP or want to settle an RPG server, it is maybe the map you're seeking for (you can settle them to 3 and make them more close for little servers. Note you can settle or modify ANY parameter, I share it with you as a thx for your time watching at this
My name is DragonNoir1 and if you're looking to do some amazing costum superflat world in minecraft without modding anything or use a map editor, creates your own quick maps to use your creativity or just to make yourself good challenges, here's the way to do it simple (may not seem so, but after 15 minutes you'll be a pro)
2;(x)x(item ID),(x)x(item ID),(x)x(item ID),(etc);(Biome number);(World parameter("parameter"=x "second parameter"=x)),(world parameter)

- World parameters -
Those are the parameters wich you will be able to add to your world, including parameters options, wich you must enter as shown, only changing (x) for the value of your choice.
