I have made a tutorial on how to get custom named weapons and tools/armour in Vanilla Minecraft. NO MODS NEEDED.

Same result as Hypixel got for the weapons/armour in Herobrine's Mansion.

Don't know about guaranteeing it. I think it would break eventually, but it would last around 10 times as long as a normal tool, which is ages. You could increase the 10 to something higher though I guess!
