I don't actually know how to do them, but if I figure it out you can be sure I'll do a tutorial
DeverionX, Okay. I am waiting this moment.
But can you make tutorial about blocks with tile entities and GUI, I found a lot tutorials, but in any of them code is different or for old versions. I don't know which one is correct and works better.

Yeah, that's one of the things I had coming next, but I don't have my code atm, so I can't really make any tutorials right now :/

Also where do I put the

The first one, I'm not sure what the problem is, it should be linking to your main class...
I often have modders come to me asking why their ore generation only works in the Overworld and not in Mystcraft ages. I've found it's because they check dimension ids rather than what they are ACTUALLY trying to do, which is check world type. When asked why, they generally explain that that's how they were taught by a tutorial.
For example, you have the following in your Ore Generation example:
switch(world.provider.dimensionId){
If Mystcraft compatibility is a concern, or really compatibility with any dimension adding mods, this line should actually be:
This allows for dimension adding mods to specify their type but occupy any dimension id. In fact using dimension ids to do things in code is a bad idea, most dimension mods nowadays allow users to specify the dimension ids in the config file. Without the hard id check in there, the Overworld itself could be moved by a mod to dim id -205 and the code here wouldn't break.
Figured I'd let you know in case you wanted to make note of this in the tutorial.

Wow, I actually hadn't checked with Mystcraft compatibility, I thought he did it himself I'll fix it now, thanks!
I followed the steps for setting up your workspace and creating the basics for a mod, and i thought, "hey if i have the basics even though i have no items it should run right?" so i ran it straight from eclipse, and this is what i got:

On the other hand, do you know how to make eclipse save it directly as a .java, not compile it into a .class, as I want to upload the source to github so someone else can use it.
EDIT: I figured out whats wrong. I looked at the list of imports, and realized there was an import for the clientpackethandler, but not for the serverpacket handler. you need to add
or just tell people to do ctrl+shift+o to make sure all the imports are there.
the github question I had I am still asking however.

Umm, you only get class files when you reobfuscate...
I mean if I wanted to use github to keep the source files. If you take a look at like buildcraft's github repo or something, they keep the actual decompiled human-readable source on github. Right now, when I save in eclipse and go to the mod files, it gives me .class. I want to have the .java so I can upload that to github.
On another note, I was looking through the forge logs after I ran the mod, and it said "mod gypsycraft is trying to register a packethandler channel with no channel name" or something to that extent. However minecraft still ran fine. Should I change anything?
Thanks for all your help!

"The signature should be a place of thought and power, with images and personalities, not an advertising banner"
Now why does the above statement contradict itself when put into a signature? PM me if you find out.
Uhh, ok xD I'll see
For example: Forestry 2.0 farms, RC Coke Furnace or RC furnace for making steel ingots.
Sorry, for my English. I am russian coder =)
Yeah, that's one of the things I had coming next, but I don't have my code atm, so I can't really make any tutorials right now :/
Probably, I did it myself with my old mod, but that was slightly different... Still, not a bad suggestion ;P

The first one, I'm not sure what the problem is, it should be linking to your main class...
proxy.addNames() goes in your init method
For example, you have the following in your Ore Generation example:
If Mystcraft compatibility is a concern, or really compatibility with any dimension adding mods, this line should actually be:
This allows for dimension adding mods to specify their type but occupy any dimension id. In fact using dimension ids to do things in code is a bad idea, most dimension mods nowadays allow users to specify the dimension ids in the config file. Without the hard id check in there, the Overworld itself could be moved by a mod to dim id -205 and the code here wouldn't break.
Figured I'd let you know in case you wanted to make note of this in the tutorial.
I do stuff.
Wow, I actually hadn't checked with Mystcraft compatibility, I thought he did it himself I'll fix it now, thanks!
I'll check it out now
EDIT: I suggest screenies if you want to avoid trouble ;)Changed the generating your ore tutorial to have Mystcraft compatibility
Can we get on Skype some time and start from scratch I'm in NL time zone

Change your packet handler channel name, some things are blocked by forge
If you can get it working in your own classes, that's fine, but you shouldn't do any base edits
I changed it to "channel", and now I get this:
