for some strange reason it isn't working for me either but it began working again if you overwrite ForgeHooksClient.class inside the forge folder it begins working again
I tried following the tutorial you put on OP, and got the blackscreen... then tried your suggestion of overwriting the forgehooksclient.class, by using the BTW one, and no go. Then i tried using the minecraft forge version of it and it worked! but when i tried to generate a new world, i got a saving chunks error. Oddly enough, when i tried to overwrite the forgehooksclient.class with the BTW version again, it loaded up fine still, but i still go the saving chunks error upon trying to generate a world. >:
Couple questions: you didn't mention deleting meta-inf folder from the fresh jar. I presume it's something you still do?
And in the minecraft forge main folder, there is a folder called net under the forge folder. do i install the net folder along with the classes you listed?
finally, inside the forge folder of the minecraft forge there is a folder called packets along with the classes. do i install that folder inside the forge folder as well?

yes of course you delete the meta-inf as with everything and I was referring to the forge file in the first place and to fix the saving chunks try overwriting in the forge folder "ForgeHooksClient$TesKey" the packets folder as well
I could be wrong, but judging by how the tutorial looks, he's not leaving out any Better than Wolves files. What he's leaving out are the forge files, so yours are the version of the files he uses. That way, apparently any mod that doesn't rely on the unmodified versions of your files, which are not present, will function, because the bits of forge they need are there, but the bits of forge that BTW doesn't like aren't. I don't think it would work if the mod needed the bits of forge you overwrite. Sorry if that doesn't seem clear, I'm not so good at explaining things.
Summary: All btw is in. Some forge is in, some forge is out. Mods that only need little bits of forge work.
exactly what I was attempting to explain thank you man

Nope, still get a saving chunks crash when i load a world or make a new one. :x
try looking up the minecraft error test file and post the crash report you get from it so I can see where the problem lies
Er, where would i find this error test file? Cause the only file i see is modloaders, and it only gives this:

Already tried it. i overwrote the icustomitemrenderer.class with the one from BTW, and still got the same error. I then tried to do the same for forge, but forge doesn't have such a class, so i can't overwrite it with forges version.

same crash and error report >.< as for the forge version, it was the lastest as far as i know, at least it was a couple days ago. version 3.2.3.108 for the client. And its also the latest version of BTW, version 3.70.
I'm honestly stumped how you managed to get yours to work. :s

then that may be the problem I am using an older version of forge I have 3.1.3.105 repeat all the steps except with that version of forge. It seems alot of people are having problems with the newest version of forge
Don't think its the forge version. Repeated all the steps using your version of forge, and same exact error report. I don't think forge knows what to do with the icustomitemrenderer.class from BTW or something. On a whim, i even deleted the class in the jar just to see what would happen, and it STILL gave the nosuchmethod error for that class file.
From the looks of your error report, your minecraft is looking for icustomitemrenderer in your forge file, inside your minecraft jar. Is that where it is? Or do you have it in the minecraft.jar alone?

now I did this by accident when I first figured this out but try putting in all the files from the forge folder into the main directory of the minecraft.jar
While playing in my singleplayer world I realized that flowerchild was right. Better than wolves was not working correctly I started a hemp farm it worked just fine grinded it using a millstone also worked created fabric which then I created sails then the windmill but when I tried to put it down it wouldn't be put down. I thought it was my world itself or it was too small of an area but then I created a flatworld tried putting it down and it still didn't work. And while using buildcraft alongside it ended up crashing the game so I hereby dub this tutorial bunked and locked
