Hello modders, I have a neat tutorial on how to generate structures without coding them and simply using my tool to convert a .schematic file to java code.
Note: ModLoader is required for the mod to compile. Note: The tool does not support metadata at this point. But I am working on that.
Today I present to you the easiest way of doing structure generation.
You do not even need to code.
After downloading my tool, unzip it. (We will use it in a bit...continue)
Now we are going to use a .schematic file to generate the structure...
(Needs to be less then 20,000 blocks, air does not count as a block)
You can build your own structure in minecraft and export it to a .schematic
(You will need MCedit to export your structure to a .schematic)
Or...
(Use the Single Player Commands Mod)
(It should include world-edit which you can use to save you structure as a .schematic)
You can also find a .schematic structures online, there's many website to download them.
Once you've acquired a .schematic structure...
Go to my tool you downloaded, unzip it if you haven't yet.
Open "SchematicToJava".
Click on the "Load and Convert .schematic" Button
A Window will appear in which you can browse for your .schematic file.
Open your .schematic file.
Wait for the program to load and convert it.
Its done!
You will find a 'WorldGenStructure.java' File, this file contains all the generation data to generate your structure.
There is another file that's not generated by the tool, I simply made it for people that need to test their structures.
How to test your structure:
Copy the "mod_modname.java" and "WorldGenStructure.java" file into the Minecraft SRC Directory
(Minecraft src directory = Directory where you normally put your .java files.)
Recompile the mod and its ready to test.
I hope I helped, feel free to ask me any questions.
I will clean this tutorial soon, its a bit messy and unclear.
If you run into any problems, post them here and I'll figure it out.
Thanks for reading. I hope to see some mods that have some awesome structures.
This is just plain Awesomeness! Saved me hours, or even days... +1 1000000
I'm glad you liked it...
Make sure to check out the tool thread a lot, I will be posting some updates soon which will fix the stairs and torches...e.t.c
MAN! this is amazing i am going to use this so much! it would be very useful for custom blocks and meta data but still thank you saved me HOURS ON END! DIAMONDS TO YOU! x 1 billion? made me do this!

Enjoy making structures.
I try to add a block to Structure can spawn on section, but it won't add the selected item to the list!
