Im guessing not, im having the same problem with getGrowingAge() on part 3.2 does this also needed to be added somwere?
"getGrowingAge()" is in EntityAgeable so make sure you extended that (or referenced it in some way, or even just added the constructor into your file) if you want to use it.
Also when you post for help with something like this you need to post excerpts from your class file so we can call you on it if you're doing something blatantly wrong.
I can guarantee that those functions are there, but I can't see what you're doing to tell you why you're getting an error.
All sorted pal, i added the constructor to my file (Was an auto-correct done by Eclipse) Sorted all errors and the mob works flawlessly. And thanks for the heads up on posting coding, never actually thought of that :$
I love those moments where something is missing mysteriously and it turns out to be a one-click Eclipse fix that you never have to think about again.
lol yeah, i was jubious about using the auto correct tho incase it messed up somwere else
Looking at doing Advanced AI for my mob now
Eventually I plan on creating a trio of giant status-inflicting spiders that pull the most dangerous elements from the majority of the monsters. The new AI made me so happy when it came out because I realized it would make doing that 30x easier...
It also means I can just copy the AI for firing arrows and make a new AI for firing the arrows from my mod so that I can apply them to anything I feel like with 2-3 lines of code.
Can you do a tutorial on the nullBoundingBox? You said something about it when i posted about the fire spawning in look direction.
Also is there a way to make mobs attracted to and area not and entity itself, like if i made a house generate when the player spawns and i want occelots to be attracked to it how would you do that? Or even is it possible?

I would look at something like EntityAIFleeSun to see how it tells mobs to avoid daylight. My best guess personally is it somehow checks the canBlockSeeSky related methods, so look at how it finds those.
Edit: I've been making a couple mobs recently and looking at the EntityAI files has been tempting me...
I'm almost considering writing EntityAIAttractedToBlock at this point and making it publicly available, it would be useful. (and I could use it to make EntityAIKamikaze for my custom creeper so that it would suicide into certain blocks )
That sounds good. BTW, I made a Entity Burns In The Sun tutorial on my channel. Go check it out, it should be one of my most recent. youtube.com/user/TheInstitutions
Can U tell me if the Ore Generation has changed for 1.2.3?
My ore Generation doesnt works anymore
It is
public void GenerateSurface(World world, Random random, int i, int j)
{
for (int i4 = 0; i4 < 5; i4++)
{
int j7 = i + random.nextInt(16);
int k10 = random.nextInt(10);
int j13 = j + random.nextInt(16);
(new WorldGenMinable(mod_elDra.Dcobble.blockID, 5)).generate(world, random, j7, k10, j13);
}
}
Whats the actual code for ore generation? =P
Btw great tutorials keep it up!
It has. Change GenerateSurface to generateSurface. That should fix everything
Change it to this:
public void generateSurface(World world, Random random, int i, int j)
{
for (int i4 = 0; i4 < 5; i4++)
{
int j7 = i + random.nextInt(16);
int k10 = random.nextInt(10);
int j13 = j + random.nextInt(16);
(new WorldGenMinable(mod_elDra.Dcobble.blockID, 5)).generate(world, random, j7, k10, j13);
}
}
*Fist Punch* I actually Understand how code fits together!!
Thanks!!
Do you have a tutorial for new Enum Armor/Tool Materials. If you know how to do so could you make a tut or message me??

for adding a biome
it isn't in the list of classes
MapGenVillage.
Also I think you can just use "ModLoader.addBiome(biome name from BiomeGenBase);" to register biomes in a few of those MapGen and GenLayer files.
Also note editing MapGenVillage isn't required to get your biome to spawn, only to get it to spawn villages, at least as far as I'm aware.
Or something similar, like being able to saddle a mob / control it?
Thanks.
