This is actually really neat! I can't see it having a whole lot of use when making more complex mods, but I could see this helping a lot of people getting started. This definitely deserves more attention, as not many actually bother to teach people these things.

Ya, your right. Because when I was learning how to make complex mods, I was looking for tutorials like this but could never find them. Now that I can make dimensions and some really cool stuff, I am trying to teach the people like I was who were looking for tutorials like this. I am doing the basics now and very soon I am going to get into some crazy stuff!
Thanks I will probably improve on it soon but right now I think i'll just stick with what I got. Thank you for the Tutorials they were very simple to follow and I liked them a lot I cant wait till you release the How to make a new dimension it must be tough to do though!

The thing about making a new dimension is ShockahPi because it is really hard to decompile into your Minecraft. I going to do a couple more tuts before the dimension because I am still working out how to keep everything simple and be able to do it in under 5 tutorials. It will be a big job and I am writing the dimension on camera so everyone knows exactly what everything means.

As you said in one of your tutorials it must be tough to do both at the same time.
Oh yeah and with the dimension will you be able to make like your own biomes spawn in it cause that would be awesome?

No, that can't happen because technically the dimension is a new biome in the sense that it is treated like a biome. It is just a really large biome in a new dimension, that is how it works. You can't spawn biomes inside of biomes... if that answers your question?

OK but you would be able to make like structures spawn in the dimension right? Kind of like obsidian spikes in The End or Nether Fortresses in the Nether.

You could, but only me. You need the source code to do that.
Is ModLoader an absolute requirement for modding? What if I wanted to make a large standalone mod instead of a ModLoader mod, how would I go about that?
If you want to make a standalone mod with out ModLoader, you would be VERY limited because it would require you to edit base classes. It would take much longer and would ruin compatibility. I strongly suggest that you use ModLoader in every mod that you make. If your worried about ModLoader not updating quick enough, don't be. It updates hours after the next version of Minecraft is released.
These tutorials are awesome! I've only checked out a few of them so far but they are pretty informative. I wanted to try to make a mod but I couldn't find any good tutorials, so it was basically trial and error. It took me a very long time to make a very simple mod, but with these tutorials I think I will be able to mods more easily, so thank you and keep up the good work. :smile.gif:
I think i might have a tutorial for you to make. Could you make one about how to make mobs act like a creeper were it explodes and AI for a custom mob.
Also for Biome generation, how to you make a only one mob spawn say like a creeper? I know there is a spawnlist code or something but i forget how to do it :sad.gif:

Here is a picture of it it is kind of messed up because I made lava the thing that spawns under the top block.
That looks great! Good Job!
