I solved the premission-denied-error
by changing
pushd .. > /dev/null
to
cd ..
pushd src > /dev/null
to
cd src
and
popd > /dev/null
to
cd ..
It does work. You just need to make sure everything is up to date.
Also, permission errors can be solved by typing this in terminal and then dragging the file in: "chmod a+x "

For the custom MCForge Armor, I created a recipe to make a steel helmet and followed your tut, but when equipped, It doesn't take or absorb damage. Mod files below.
mod_Physicraft:
package net.minecraft.src;
import java.util.Random;
import net.minecraft.src.forge.*;
public class mod_Physicraft extends BaseMod
{
public static Item noHaxin = new ItemNoHaxin(1141).setItemName("NoHaxin");
static EnumArmorMaterial armorSTEEL = EnumHelper.addArmorMaterial("STEEL", 29, new int[] {2, 7, 5, 3}, 9);
public static final Item helmetSteel = (new PhysicraftItemArmor(1142, armorSTEEL, 5, 0)).setIconCoord(0, 6).setItemName("helmetSteel").setIconIndex(1);
public static final Item plateSteel = (new PhysicraftItemArmor(1143, armorSTEEL, 5, 1)).setIconCoord(0, 7).setItemName("chestplateSteel").setIconIndex(2);
public static final Item legsSteel = (new PhysicraftItemArmor(1144, armorSTEEL, 5, 2)).setIconCoord(0, 8).setItemName("leggingsSteel").setIconIndex(3);
public static final Item bootsSteel = (new PhysicraftItemArmor(1145, armorSTEEL, 5, 3)).setIconCoord(0, 9).setItemName("bootsSteel").setIconIndex(4);
public String getVersion()
{
return "Physicraft v0.1";
}
@Override
public void load()
{
MinecraftForgeClient.preloadTexture("/Physicraft/items.png");
ModLoader.AddName(new ItemStack(mod_Physicraft.noHaxin, 1, 0), "Steel Ingot");
ModLoader.AddName(helmetSteel, "Steel Helmet");
ModLoader.AddName(plateSteel, "Steel Chestplate");
ModLoader.AddName(legsSteel, "Steel Leggings");
ModLoader.AddName(bootsSteel, "Steel Boots");
ModLoader.AddRecipe(new ItemStack(mod_Physicraft.helmetSteel.shiftedIndex, 1, 0), new Object [] {"AAA", "SSS", "SAS", Character.valueOf('S'), new ItemStack(mod_Physicraft.noHaxin.shiftedIndex, 1, 0)});
FurnaceRecipes.smelting().addSmelting(265, 0, new ItemStack(mod_Physicraft.noHaxin.shiftedIndex, 1, 0));
}
}
PhysicraftItemArmor:
package net.minecraft.src;
import net.minecraft.src.forge.*;
public class PhysicraftItemArmor extends ItemArmor implements ITextureProvider, IArmorTextureProvider
{
public PhysicraftItemArmor(int i, EnumArmorMaterial enumarmormaterial, int j, int k)
{
super(i, enumarmormaterial, j, k);
}
public String getTextureFile()
{
return "/Physicraft/items.png";
}
public String getArmorTextureFile(ItemStack itemstack)
{
if(itemstack.itemID == mod_Physicraft.helmetSteel.shiftedIndex || itemstack.itemID == mod_Physicraft.plateSteel.shiftedIndex || itemstack.itemID == mod_Physicraft.bootsSteel.shiftedIndex)
{
return "/Physicraft/steel_1.png";
}
if(itemstack.itemID == mod_Physicraft.legsSteel.shiftedIndex)
{
return "/Physicraft/steel_2.png";
}
return "/Physicraft/steel_1.png";
}
}
I can make a new dimension tutorial with forge except my first order of business is to write a gui tutorial because more people wanted that. A dimension tutorial is my second tutorial on queue.
Maybe this video will help him:
Note: this is not mine. Thumbs up if it helped
fixed
It does work. You just need to make sure everything is up to date.

it's the same as singleplayer....what exactly do you need to know?
fixed
how do i set it up so that the server also uses forge?
but mojang has/is adding 4000 block ids to minecraft so you most likely won't have to wait long
i haven't really looked into redpower at all
mod_Physicraft:
PhysicraftItemArmor:
it will still be on the custom texture file
Hint:
"I get like 2938492834923 hunk errors" != "I installed everything correctly"
Firstly, Thank You for The Nice Tutorials... Will Help a Lot!
And... Do You can make a Tutorial of a New Dimension with Forge?
