So I am currently making a mod and it requires that I create a new mob with a different skin map, different AI, and different sounds. It is a particularly detailed mod that gives specific characteristics to said new mob. I DO NOT want a tutorial on how to do it with modloader. For anyone who is up to this I have a list of a few things I need to know, AND whoever helps me can try the mod before I put it up for download. Anyways, here's the list:
-How skinmaps work (how the game defines what part of the texture to use for each part of the mob)
-How the game draws/animates the mob
-How the AI works
-How one relates sounds to specific functions
-That's it.
Once again, if anyone can help me that would be most appreciated. Remember, we as a community are one, and I would never hesitate to help you out!
IMPORTANT: If you make said tut as a new thread don't forget to add the tag "@GreyZap" (without quotations) in your topic title. thnx!

I reccomend using Techne to make the model. It has a built in texture exporter so you don't have to manually do step 1 (which is a serious pain).
AI is very complex depending on what you want to do; there's no tutorial on how to make AI work the tutorials moreso need a goal first (IE get from point A to point B ) and since you probably won't disclose how the AI should work I can't help there.
What do you mean, sounds to specific functions? You can override a mob's talk-interval sound, hit sound, dying sound and make sounds play via your own code. (check EntityPlayer.java to learn how to do this. DO NOT GET DISTRACTED- there's alot in there. search "sound" to find it.)

Though It's not a tutorial that still helps a lot! Thank you. I'll check it out.

That's what I want explained, I don't get how it works, I can't read it.
